You dont find your main. Your main finds you
You need t play all champions until u find that one where you just cant stop thinking about it. No matter what lane you get you are willing to play it. For me its Morgana. Also it needs to be champion that you get crushed if you lose with but in same time you would pick it again if you could turn time back. Champion that you are willing to bring into any matchup and believe that opponent has no chance against you. Champuion where u get more upset if he is buffed rather than nerfed because it might get banned/picked. Champion that you would pick if you got to go to all stars and play 1v1 against faker as audience participant regardless of what he picks and believe that ypu gonna kick his ass. Champion that you see LCS team picks and you secretly wish he wins even if you love other team and wear their t shirt.
Damn im so deep.
There has to be a connection. You must play many champs on your search for this "main" that you speak of. You must be open to trying new things, BUT, I do find it helps to limit yourself in some way to a certain pool.
For instance, I really wanted to play all the champs with a Pirate-themed skin, so I started learning them all. If I wasn't doing that, I wouldn't have picked up Swain, who went on to become my most played champ. It took awhile for me to get decent at him, but the first time I played him I knew that this champ was different. Special. I didn't expect that one, but here I am.
On the other hand, my second most played champ is Taric, and that was the first champ I owned. That one was love at first sight, and it stuck.
Many strats can work, but my two cents are a) try out a bunch of champs and b) give it a few games before you walk away. Sometimes it takes a few games just to get the hang of their abilities.
I have played this game a long time and i havent found a real main yet. I rly need help. And now i am lvl 95.
I played a lot of ARAM to find out what champions I liked.
Surprise, surprise, it ended up being ranged casters, just like every MMO I've ever played.
<- turns into a kitty;
kitty can pounce... <3.
Trial and error. It's that simple.
Trust me when I first started playing League I never thought of becoming a Lulu onetrick.
For me, i fell in love with leblanc the first time i played her. I actually forgot about the outside world one day and played her for 8 hours straight.
Then she was reworked and lux was the next best thing.
[sg-janna] riot..
A tedious government funded analysis spanning many metrics to ensure only the most choice candidates. And because we all knew jhin was going to be amazing when he was teased. A shame coming back I actually have 0 desire to play.
I had a favorite champion once,Graves before the rework,he had it all, good looks,a cigar,he was great at 1v1 he could kite,he had burst and his passive ensured he had some survivabilty, ever since he got reworked i still play adc mostly but never found anyone that i like as much as him,Lucian and Vayne are close seconds
i love skarner. I just love his ult. Dragging someone to my team to certain death feels so satisfying
I looked at the champion page, saw anivia, went, "OO a bird that's cool" and now have 400k on her.
i main

Just be yourself and open your heart, a champion is already waiting to be your main.
I hate playing short ranged champions (including all melees) or champions without waveclear, so I started looking for champions that fit my requirements. I came across Ahri. She has an amazing theme and playstyle. It took me hundreds of games to master her- but now I'm very confident in my Ahri, and it was worth it.
[sg-ahri-2]
Just go through all the champions, and think of how you like to play the game, what playstyle you prefer, what theme you like. What champion looks really cool to you? I'm a big fan of casters, mages etc. It just needs a little safety aswell (like Ahri ult, Orianna e and w, Xayah ult...). I'm also a sucker for cool visuals and voice lines.
Thresh is my bae
me too, i don't have a real main
i mained xin first, dunno why honestly
then teemo, just because i liked how everybody hated him
then i decided to go for fiora, and it's my current main
but i'm searching for something else, experimenting new champs and such
i like jihn artwork and his ult, but i suck as adc i like xerath ult and poke range, but get crushed by hypermobile mids i like akali just because she can shit on yasuo
i may consider buying kled just for his passive and voicelines
Looking at the meta and deciding which champ best suits your needs. Mid laners love to pick their assassins so instead of going
try going
.
well when i started league i hated most riven and liked most blitzcrank so i started maining him but after 3 years of maining him and looking at my friend playing riven i wanted to try riven. I tryed I sucked. I hated her even more and then i tryed to learn her. And now im riven onetrick with 800k...

I have alot of champs I love to play as, Nami, Lux, Karma, Sona, TF, Malphite, Poppy, the list is pretty long but my one true love will always be
. DOes not matter who I go up aginst in bot lane I willl pick her. As to how you find your main? Like others said just play with the diffrent champions till you find them or as somone said they find you.
You need to play every role and experience a lot of champions to find your main ive been playin since preseason 7 so im fairly new but i played every role played every champion and when season 8 hit i found my main xayah when you find them something will just click i had strong mechanics on her since i picked her up and then took the time to find every hidden trick and tiny detail i could about her it doesnt matter how bad in the meta she is i still find someway to make her work most the time ull find your main it just takes alot of time and trying out new champs and different playstyles
You find your main by finding your flow. If a champ flows like water to your wants there you go. Regardless of difficulty all that matters is if there attacks flow with your wants/expectations.
You need for your champ
Idk and Idc who you choose now but for me it is everytime
Jax and
Nasus
Finding a main? That's easy.
Every single player if he plays long enough will gravitate towards a particular play style or even just a simple pattern of play that he finds enjoyable. Using myself as an example, I hate pauses where you're just waiting for shit to come off cooldown. I find that thoroughly sickening. I love mobility and I thoroughly hate not being able to blick, dash or sprint on a moments notice. I also love the option of doing consistent damage without cooldowns getting in the way and I also love my damage grow consistently over time, reaching insane levels in the late game. Right away you know I'd never main standard mages like Sylas, Syndra, Annie, Lux, Ahri, Brand, Xerath etc. No mobility and having to constantly wait for cooldowns are major pain points for me on these champions. I don't enjoy playing like that at all.
Now, if you look at all my mains from since I started in season 5 you will see a pattern:-
Very mobile and high amounts of sustained damage that doesn't depend entirely on waiting for cooldowns.
The old one by the way. I can't play this new one at all. While old Kayle was not as mobile as Azir, she did have a potent speed boost and a devious slow which in a sense makes her more mobile that whoever she hit with it. She also did massive amounts of sustained damage that didn't depend entirely on cooldowns.
Quite mobile with her speed boost and her ultimate. Most of her damage comes from her autos so she isn't too dependent on cooldowns when she decides to go on someone. Only pain point is that her damage stops scaling after mid game unlike the other champions on this list.
My current main. Very mobile with massive amounts of damage that scales to insane levels in the late game. The fact that nearly all of her damage comes from her autos combined with the fact that her cooldowns are very short means you can sustain an engage for basically as long as you want without any significant pauses.
While not considered a mobile champion, I play him with Nimbus Cloak, Ghost and his W is insanely powerful. These three things combined give most of the the benefits of mobility without him actually needing to be a mobile champion in the typical sense. His main damage output is on a low enough cooldown that you can sustain an engage for as long as you want without long pauses, especially in his ultimate. His stacking mechanic ensures that his damage continues to grow and can reach insane levels in the late game.
The old one. Haven't played the new one yet. Old Akali was highly mobile with very short cooldowns and of course, disgusting levels of damage.
Here are some champions I could see myself maining in the future:-
Kinda mobile with the speed boost on her Q. Does sustained damage that scales to spectacular levels in the late game.
This one is a bit odd since his lack of mobility is a major pain point for me but he makes up for it with his ridiculous, over-the-top scaling and of course being a marksman, sustained damage is core to his play style, very little waiting for stuff to come off cooldown.
Same as Kog'Maw except damage not as high but still insane and she is mobile, unlike Kog.
Same as Kai'sa but with more damage.
Same as Fiora.
Similar to Fiora. In place of short cooldowns, she has resets.
Same as Fiora.
So yea, when you find a particular play style that you enjoy, you will find your mains quite easily.
my main is midlane ican play evrythink mid and i cant go any champion lvl 7 :(
Finding your main is like finding your significant other: there's really nothing anyone can tell you that'll make finding it easier. It'll just happen one day, and you'll be like "this is the one."
Fortunately, there's no binding contract to a LoL main, and therefore no nasty divorce, child support, etc when you cheat on your main with that one-off Miss Fortune game. :P
In all seriousness though, I see my "main" as more of a vague thing right now. Namely, I "main" enchanter supports. Among those, Nami and Janna are probably my most played, but with basically anyone in that genre, I can wreak havoc.
I thing that u have to chosse ur main it was harder then i espected to find perdect main for me but i did it and now i thing i have fond my 2nd main ! Dont lose hope <3 [slayer-jinx-catface] [katarina-love]

About 90% of the champs I routinely play I came to like because I randomly got them in ARAM and really enjoyed their play style.

all fall into this among others.
Then others I got into because they are somewhat similar to the ones above, for example
can all be built more or less the same way and find success.
i remember the moment i saw a certain champion get a triple. thought that was hot as fuck, and i mained her, and never left. ive found mine.
I spin a wheel
keep playing free champs until a few pop out at you. eventually you will fall in love with one.
You play around until you find a champion that you enjoy more than anything else. Then just play the fuck out of that champion and boom, ya got a main.
When I still played ranked I was nothing more than a basic little silver guy without a main, then I watched a single meme video about fizz, picked him up and loved him, played him for several months straight during the pre season, and before I knew it I was dominating Diamond 1 players and I owned high elo below masters all within 2 and a half weeks.
I played a lot of support in mmorpg so i just stuck with the typical RPG support when playing league
I have a consistent roster for a while now.
Started with
and pre-rework
Then Reworked GP.
Then
Then added Old
to that roster
Then Added
Got rework and shes at the side of the roster waiting to get buffs/changes until shes not a troll pick anymore.
Current Roster is strickly only

With
pending again.
I connect with these champs, ESPECIALLY Aurelion Sol. My name is Q The Keg, but Aurelion Sol is like..... the epitome of me inside.
look...i surely don't know what is my main but I LOVE playing
First i was playing Jinx but then i realized i wanted something that will make the enemys bleed and make them want to pounch the screen...yeah so vayne does it for meh
