Can we get some Heimerdinger love?

So i was saddened when i saw that nothing was done to help out Heimerdinger, I mean i love the guy but he is not really playable since all these updates are making everyone else stronger and he already had a hard time keeping up. Main problem is most Ranged champs can kill his turrets outside their range, and then most Melee ones can jump in and either tank the turrets or kill Heimerdinger and run out before the turrets can even do anything to them.

Whats everyone else's thoughts on this? Am i just playing him wrong by actually hoping to use his turrets for anything? Any ideas on what might be able to improve him?

My advice, rework his passive. The whole point of his passive is to keep his turrets alive, and it becomes useless lategame once everyone is able to one shot them.

My silver-status understanding is that he plays now as a split-pusher with banner and zzrot. I'm 3-1 playing him like that in the last couple months, and have a good bit of fun, but he's awfully binary depending if you get a good laning/jungle match-up. Especially with Malz being so dominant right now, I don't think I'd use him in 6.9.

I think like Jay mentioned above, the passive is the place to make changes. He's built to siege, but not really in a team/5v5 siege, since at least one or two of your opponents can probably trash your turrets without really trying.
