The ADC struggle

AZbeast··2 votes·602 views

As a preface, I play around a high silver to low gold level.

I feel like looking at the enemy team and how many bruisers/tanks they have I can pretty much know im going to win or lose a game. Even a fed ADC with a good bruiser in their face is going to die. Don't get me wrong im not crying here, merely looking for other peoples opinions.

My issue is this even if im doing well, I cant always build a LW before the enemy tanks/bruisers can completely shut me down. As an ADC main its difficult to deal with these super tanky characters unless you have them on your team and they know how to protect you. Obviously positioning is very important but most characters have abilities to chase down the ADC and make them hurt. Anyone have some good advice for dealing with the Vi's in the world? haha.

Thanks for any help and for reading. happy hunting.

Erm, yes you can. There is nothing wrong with rushing Bork and following it up with LW. Honestly recommend it against particularly tanky teams.

But more to the point- You really just need to accept that when there is a Vi, a Jarvan, a Fizz, etc on their team, you're probably going to die. More than once. What you need to focus on is not them but making as much of an impact on the rest of their team before they can kill you.

This is where a support usually comes in handy. If your team is watching you die, or is busy chasing the enemy team then you'll always die. It's all about positioning and until you learn that then you'll always stay stuck gold/silver. A tank or support who sticks with you is more valuable than one who tries to do damage and shut down the enemy. If sona just opened up with her ult, it wouldn't be as useful as using it to protect the adc so they can shut down their pursuer first and then clean up the rest of the enemy team.

If you're being chased, use that. The main counter to Vi is to get her away from her team. Make her hunt you hard into your team, and then shut her down. If you're way behind your team, you will get picked out and die easy. It's not necessarily about not dying as it is a teamwork effort. And teamwork at Gold is just uncommon.

Overall, the ADC is not a wholly self-sufficient character, and shouldn't be. Just have to adjust to your support, team, or vice versa. But I'll tell you now that it's just not going to happen.

yep ADCs are OP.

League of tanks? League of assassins? League of bruisers?

Nope. Every season is league of marksmen.

No team has ever won a pro game with 0 marksmen.

Games have been played with no top laner, no mid laner, no support (well, "Irelia support", in a pro Korean game) but never no ADC.

Games have been played with no bruisers or tanks, no assassins or mages or even a full AD or AP team - except the marksman.

Are you fking kidding me. I play in high gold/low plat. Just lost a game where a fed Sion, Xerath and me (Hecarim) all could not do shit to a Caitlyn/Janna bot lane, all because our ADC (Lucian) was slightly less fed and our support wasn't as good. If Sion could not land ult on Cait it was GG because Janna could peel anyone else and Cait would kill them in 3-5 autos. I started the game 4-0-4 and still lost because ranged AD + CC is OP. I've lost games as 8-1-2 Hecarim before all because that 1 was in the final ace of our team by ranged AD + peel. If your team picks a support with weaker CC or your ADC is slightly worse, you've already lost the game. All that matters is the bot lane, no other lane matters individually, its all about how much you can get bot lane snowballing. It didn't matter how fed me, Xerath or Sion were since we failed to get bot lane going or suppress their bot lane.
