The afk/troll/dc/leaver problem

the ranked system is flawed as it does not punish just the person who afk'd troll'd etc. it punishes the players on the troll's team as well, and it rewards the other team. Riot need to add a way so that those who have these players don't get punished and lose a absurd amount of lp just because someone dc'd. the ranked system needs this to make it a more enjoyable experience and make it less scary to q up, knowing that you might lose lp just because someone rages and leaves the game.

Well it's a really bad idea to punish a team for doing nothing but playing against a team who had one unfortunate afker. You shouldn't punish someone (let alone an entire group) for doing nothing wrong.

I can't take credit for this but I also cannot give credit as I cannot remember who said it but the idea was to make a separate queue of players who would fill in for players that went afk. That player would have to be at the same skill level as the one who disconnected and be ready to play the champion that the afker was. So someone would go into this queue and select a few champions they were willing to play in whatever positions. In reward for this the player would receive some bonus IP.
