Why Riot needs to buff Dragons
I've always been a fan of the dragons concept. They're meant to be this powerful presence on the lower half of the map that both teams are contesting to obtain. But recently, the game has been so focused on laning that dragons aren't taken unless there isn't a tower that can possibly be taken or there isn't a teamfight that occurs. Back in the good old days, dragons used to give gold when slain and honestly, some of the most exciting teamfights of the game (like the imp penta kills at worlds 2014 and that 5v5 between c9 and ssb where there was almost a double ace until sneaky was the only one left standing) and not only that, dragons used to have a lot more meaning too. That 600 or so gold boost was no joke, if u skip out on it and let the enemy team take the dragon, you're losing a massive advantage that will eventually snowballs onto you. But now, dragons are honestly pretty unimpressive. Don't get the wrong idea, there's value to having dragon buffs but honestly, I feel like it could be much better. Like before I go into the changes I would like to see given to dragons (come on, you knew this was coming...), I want to give my own theory as to why buffing dragons would make the game better. Right now the game is definitely too damn snowbally, the first blood tower gives too much gold and like when u lose the first towers, suddenly it opens up room for jungle invades, more gold AND item deficits, and a bunch of other disadvantages. The worst part about this is it may not even be my fault, like it's not my fault that my teammate from other lanes lost their turrets when I'm 20 cs and just solo killed my lane opponents . Sure I could have teleport or roam down to help them but is that the most reliable way to carry/win the game? Maybe a more reliable way would require dragons to be a more important objective so that MAYBE it's more contested and in turn, the game isn't just revolves around who win lane and who's better at taking turrets. I could be wrong about this but I do sincerely believe that buffing dragons and make them more relevant will make the game more interactive and less centered about turrets. I will be making several posts about my ideas to buffing dragons so that they can be more interactive for the players.
