Do you guys think the honor system needs to be changed or not?
It looks like no one is gonna honor people anymore including myself. Feel the system is pretty useless.

Yes because it doesn't really get any use. Either delete or change it
The reason it's useless is because Co op vs AI players honor so frequently that they are essentially the only players to get badges.
Make it top 10% and if someone gives a lot of honor it gives less weight.
I get honored somewhat frequently, but I haven't had the badge for years now, so honestly I have no idea how it even works.
I think it's useful if people would use it - Spread positivity. It's another way to encourage sportsmanship. I do think it would help if they made changes though.
I report more than honoring others.
Yep. It should be reworked
more honor = more chests and keys.
Perhaps rewards would be nice for reaching a milestone. Say 100 honors = 1k ip or something. It will entice players to not be toxic.
I hate to say it, but it was never really intended to be "useful." It was just a way for the community to say "Hey, you're awesome."
I don't think the community is really a friendly place anymore, so it goes border-line unnoticed. I bet a lot of players that have started in the last couple years don't even know it exists because it was never really a thing for them.
I honor people all the time, but I feel like it's doing absolutely nothing. lol
I honor people still...
Systems deficient in a dozen ways.
Primarily, the need to honor during the match when most players simply want to que the next match is the worst problem. Same goes for reports, the should be a honor or report feature accessible for previous matches from the hub instead of only in the match recap.
Secondly, there should be a ribbon for appreciation. Players who honor regularly could gain a ribbon for appreciating others, directly motivating them to honor.
Thirdly, there should be rewards, hextech chests or keys for certain categories, or exclusive skins each year. Something that actually motivated players to desire approval.
Lastly, they need to isolate honor types, helpful gets very little attention, while honorable opponent gets the most since it's the only option for foes.
Honorable opponent and friendly should both be replaced with sportsmanlike. With other ribbons for allies or foes for things like tenacious and MVP.
If they are concerned with spamming honor, they shouldn't be, promoting appreciation doesn't need to be policed, they can simply limit honor to one or two allies and enemies per game to ensure that players aren't honoring everyone indiscriminately.
I think the most badges are on people who play coop a lot, so why not make different badges for normal and coop? Or different badges for each elo?
They should change into the way Overwatch & Heroes of the Storm MVP system works.
It was always pointless, as it was nothing more than a placebo. The problem is, when you TELL people it is a placebo, it doesn't accomplish much.
It is just a pointless ribbon that is near impossible to get anymore outside of friends spamming honor for you in groups, or you start a new account and you beg for honor or the first thing I said in regards to friends.
I thought it was silly when it was first announced, so I guess I've been wondering when Riot was going to get rid of it for a while now and I really don't know why they have kept it as it was at launch.
If they tie it into the hextech system it will work better, like every 100 honor you receive you get blue essence, or orange essence from opponents honoring you.
I still get honoured from time to time and I merely honour in kind as a bit of courtesy really. Honestly though I don't really mind not being honoured because it's just become very underwhelming over the year that I have played this game. For beginners honouring is awesome, but for someone like me the whole system loses it's effect after the first 600 times.
I like the system because it provides immediate positive feedback to other players. Banners and badges and all that other nonsense aside, it feels good to see your efforts recognized by your teammates, and good to pay someone a compliment. It may not seem like much of a benefit (we gamers do so like our visible trophies and achievements, don't we?) but I think it helps promote friendliness in the community. If your only feedback options are report/don't report, well... a certain adage about hammers and nails comes to mind. I don't think honor needs to have a visual effect or reward beyond the social incentive, although I hope that it is taken into consideration when it comes to bans and tribunals. A person who has overwhelmingly positive feedback should maybe get some lee-way for having an off day.
the Honor System had a terrible threshold. Similar to Meowmeow Beans/Social Credit score/black mirror.
One report from a salty ADC that was throwing the game on your Great supporting and it's gone.
I think they should reset all accolades and find some way to really spice it up! like funny skins (Smiley face t-shirts on dark champs like kalista or something for friendly, tahm kench in a smiley face shirt would just work.) or one for every honor option, like a teamwork skin for traditionally self sufficent champs, like strategist riven (big gauntlet is a computer maybe) or something since riven mains have such a bad wrap lol. (Helpful Bard anyone?) You get it. The other option would be that you earn crafting stuff, an emote would actually probably work pretty well tbh over other non-skin cosmetic rewards.
Tl;dr GIVE ME MEMES RIOT!!!
Yes
I honor pretty often, though I have noticed that it rarely gets returned. I've got over 100 teamwork, but that has taken a long time to reach. I wondered what the threshold was for that little badge but I get the sense that it's never actually going to materialize.
I would like to see, and I've seen it implemented in other games, a post game score card pop up with the honors checkmarks next to the scoreboard. Instead of a giant "Victory" or "Defeat" pop up after a match have the scoreboard pop up with your thumbs up or thumbs down next to the names of the players and you can do your honors there, rather than it be an after thought back in the client. I could see people using it alot more then.
Maybe there should not be any specific category to honor someone. Maybe, you should just accumulate total honor points and get recommendations for each honor point. People will have to specifically TELL you why they think your awesome.
Make that you can only get honors from random people. And then give honor ranks at the end of season. From bronze to diamond, from honorable to not so honorable.
i thing its need to change
I usually honor the winning team unless someone is particularly salty. But I feel like I never get honors no matter how nice and a good teammate I am
600 teamwork honors and counting, never seen a ribbon. Rework pls
