Can I get tips and tricks from Darius mains and masters?

I recently bought Darius because I saw those youtube videos on him and he looked so cool. The youtube videos showed how he could 1v5 and I always wanted to do that. THEN WHEN I TRIED HIM OUT... i got rekt lol. I was ahead off them in kills and minion kills, but the enemy team kept destroying me late game. So late game is Darius just not good anymore? My final build was like, everything armor. I had black cleaver, gargoyle, thornmail, dead mans, ninja tabi, and spirit... but they always destroyed me lol. So how do i kill people early, mid, and especially late game when everyone has final build. Should i just go full ad late game? Or what. And no when it was late game i didnt try to 1v5. Even when 1v1ing i lost a lot.

So late game is Darius just not good anymore?

no unless you can hit the enemy tank 5 times and then dunk them all hehe

It would seem that you got kited or out-positioned hard during the late game. That is something that goes beyond Darius and extends to all juggernauts in the game.

I would recommend watching some guides on positioning and teamfighting as a juggernaut. There should be some good resources on youtube.

Off the top of my head:

You want to get bleed stacks on as many enemies as possible early on in the fight, because you gain movement speed from your passive, and it's very important to help you keep from getting kited. Having Black Cleaver helps with this too. Other options include buying Righteous Glory or Youmuu's Ghostblade, the actives will give you much more reliability to get into the enemy team without getting kited as easily.

Additionally your positioning in a fight will depend on how strong your team is at the time. If they are weaker than the enemy team, then your best option is to stay near your back line and focus on killing anyone who tries to dive them. From this position, you can also follow up on a good pick or engage if your team catches an enemy. If your team is stronger than the enemy you can try to set up a flank, where you come in behind the enemy team while your team engages from the front. This gives you easiest access to the enemy back line and makes it much harder for them to kite you.

Early game is very important for Darius,I take ignite top and get first blood before lv3 but that's more advanced stuff,I would suggest you to play it safe until lv6,yes poke your enemy with Q but don't engage recklessly, also make sure you watch out for ganks since Darius is a counter to majority of melee toplaners, you will have hard times vs AD carries,they are simply a counter to juggernauts and that is that,make sure you time your E vs them.

RUNES: I am running attack speed quintessences,attack damage marks,armor seals and magic resist glyphs,the reason I take attack speed is because new Darius is all about getting Noxian Might, that's why his attack speed was nerfed like hell in the rework,so this will help you alot

MASTERIES: You have 2 good choices in my opinion those are Stormraiders and Grasp,you can look me up on LoLking if you want to see them,Stormraiders is good for movement speed and slow resistance always goes well with juggernauts,graps of the undying goes well with Darius passive but after they nerfed the heal I rarely use it,also you can try Courage of the Colosus

BUILD: Classic build: item 3111 item 3071 item 3742 item 3065 item 3143 item 3193 I would recommend you try this build if you haven't already, if pretty much gives Darius all he needs,extra armor shred with , movement speed, slow(very good when you E AD carries and give them an extra slow with this also crit reduction, extra healing Now it depends how the enemy team looks like,if they have majority AD consider buying item 3075 (and if you lane against Illaoi , Camille and other healing champions,also item 3193 is a monster item on Darius,it's been only seen as OP on Chogath but this item is insane with Darius when you activate if around 3 enemy players,your HP is doubled and you can heal it all back with 1 Q if you have item 3065

More offensive build: item 3111 item 3071 item 3142 item 3742 item 3065 item 3143 since Darius has his early game nerfed a lot of times this build can change that,not only you get extra lethality with you get more movement speed,add to that and Stormraiders if makes Darius extremely mobile,other items I explained above.

Of course if you lane against AP you want to buy magic resist items right away after you finish item 3071 ,if you lane against Teemo buy item 3194 and so on.

For anyone who'd still this read thread, getting passive stacks is the key. You can practice AA+W+Q fast since you can cancel their animation and get 3 stacks. Something good early in lane (about level 4) is creep management. You can keep his minions pushing into you with 4 minions left just outside tower. This way you force out fights or make him roam/farm jungle/starve, both in your favour. In lane you can just... BE, and people are afraid of you (yup,i copied that). SoloRenektonOnly teaches the wave management very well. Only Quinn , Teemo (include other bane of juggernauts) or a good can kill you in lane. (Last one is more of a skill matchup tho). If you encounter Gnar , just wait for his mega form and wreck him. In team fights attack the most aggresive enemy (usually tanks and divers) to get 5 stacks on him and flash Q into their backline to spread your cancer. Prioritize getting NoxianMight in favour of switching targets. In the new system i like to pick phase rush for the movement speed.(As 2DunksFromHell said with the old stormraider's).
