If you build AD, "Summon Aery" deals magical damage, if you build AP, Aery does physical.
It means that as the game progresses and champions bulk up, Aery gets worse as it can't use your lethality/MPEN.

Naqel2 votesIf it was, she'd deal the proper one. Adaptive damage takes on the type that most benefits you, not the one that is most intuitive.
If even after magic penetration, physical damage would be at least 0.00001 point higher, then it should deal physical.
Level5Pidgey1 votesIf you test it atm on PBE or in-client, build MF with Void Staff vs. Last Whisper against a training dummy (100 armour & MR for 50% reduction to each) and then do the same with Annie you'll see that it always picks the damage type that will deal the lower damage.
Annie with IE & Last Whisper = Aery does Magical Damage MF with IE & Last Whisper = Aery does Magical Damage
Annie with Void Staff & Rabadons = Aery does Physical Damage MF with Void Staff & Rabadons = Aery does Physical Damage
It's the opposite of Adaptive.
