How to make the "On my way" signal better

For me, a simple way to improve the signal "On my way" could be to add just under the name of the champion the time it is going to take for him to be on the spot.

For exemple, my toplaner is getting ganked, i signal to him i'm coming. Just under the signal, he can see it is going to take me 10 seconds to come, so he knows he has to temporize during 10 seconds before i'm there to help him, which is really helpful because when you're in action, you see your jungler pinging that he's coming, you don't really know how far he is from you, except if you look at your map, which is quite hard to do when in fight.

I'm IT student in software development, and i don't think this functionnality would be hard to implement in LoL.

Thank you for reading,

NeOn.

Theres lots of potential paths to take that'd all take different amounts of time. People don't necessarily want to take the direct route to a lane so that they might be able to get in a better ganking position or avoid wards or whatever.

Whats more, movespeed isn't static. Various item actives give move speed, theres added movespeed from a mastery when in the river, theres scuttle crab, theres janna passive, janna w itself, and a few other champs that have movespeed altering effects. Heck, someone could even be pinging from the base where they could buy/sell boots in addition to the homeguard movespeed.

edit: Spending a fraction of a second to glance at the minimap is not that hard to do, and something you should really get in habit of doing constantly, not just when someone pings. Think of it as checking your mirrors when driving.

What about things like TF R, Panth R, and Rek'Sai R?

Using or not using those could fk the system up.

Except they have much more definite travel times for the first two, and travels in a straight line which is in fact easier to calculate for Rek'Sai?

I'm talking about the difference between using them or not - which would you give, the walk time or the ult time? Whichever it is, what if they used the other?

That wouldn't really help.

You just need to check the map.

The problem is that many junglers ping their intention and then something else happens, so if you see that a jungler would get there in 10 and you don't check the map you might go in in 10 even though he turned the opposite direction so you have to check the map in either case.
