Lux decimates too frequently in soloQ

I main this champ, most of the time I massacre the game and have a huge influence. When I face Lux she always is 1 shots wtfpwning my teamates and me too.

Can anyone tell me if this is different at other levels of play?? The only things I have found is picking Vayne for our ADC since we can go invisible and gank him fast? Also, what about buying boots first item to help dodge her moves?

What are some good counters? I just bought Ahri and Yasuo maybe they are good?

Not that I am anything special since I just started playing in September, but these are my observations and I am curious if anyone else is noticing this also

The only problem I have with Lux is that her Lucent Singularity has become extremely hard to dodge. Impossible to dodge in most cases, actually. It never really feels right to never be able to dodge a spell in lane

this.

it makes her feel too safe and untouchable. either reduce its range or reduce its radius, or reduce the travel speed of the orb. anything. as of now it does feels impossible to dodge

It was QoL. Lux players with excellent ping could do it already, the change was just to make it fair to those with higher ping.

that doesn't change the fact that it basically is a 1000range point n click till the opponent gets tier twoboots...just that it works that way now even for high ping lux aswell.

Idk I don't have that much trouble dodging it, must be you. Most Lux toss it just behind you because most people's reflex is to back down, take a step towards her instead.

if you face bad luxes that mistake it for a cho Q, thats nice for you. A good lux centers it directly on top of you, and without boots, there is no way to dodge it. you don't need to do mindgames with it early on. Once tier 2 boots are bought, that changes a bit, but unless it is used on max range, it still is really hard to dodge. Hands down the easiest to land skillshot with 1k+range.

If you know that player's tossing it right towards you then move ANYWHERE as she's doing her animation.

Gee.

Good idea, assuming she casts it right on top of you and your champ radius is 0 units, you only need a movespeed of 455 to escape the blast radius at a range of 1000.

Now, getting the cast directly on someone is improbable given lag, but dodging without shoes is more likely a result of the lux's mistake than your skill.

Except, Riot said they would watch Lux and Lucent Singularity for if it gets out of hand with these QoL buffs. Which it is. It's a bullshit spell now, and I play Lux occasionally. There's not much effort or thought put into the spell when you launch it. Just mash E a few times, and it detonates before it even reveals itself. You have minimal reaction time now. While it may pop instantly, the slow still lingers, even for that fraction of a second, which is OBNOXIOUS.

Yasuo I agree. Not being able to dodge a spell Katarina is so fucking annoying Akali and they do so much damage Annie because "mid laners can't auto" Cassiopeia and it just makes me not want to play mid at all Viktor Ever Malzahar Like I never want to play mid Leblanc So toxic Kayle What is skill?

Agreed.

Her E has such a huge range and radius, it really is nigh impossible to get out of in time.

zed counters her hard, a good zed will get a kill on a good lux, even when she is doing her best to not die.

try building banshees next time 1 single mr item even if its only merc treads elimintes lux burst entirely

lux is in an awful state right now all the items she uses have become 300-500g more expensive so a 3-4 kill lux is equal in "power" to a 0-0-0 lux from about 10 months ago lux needs 4 core items before she is officially dangerous

Lux blows ass against tanks. Her rotation can't kill them in one go unless she's stupid ahead of them, she has longish CDs compared to other mages, and her burst without ult isn't as impressive as most mid laners.

Myrmiron2 votes

Yes, Lux has AMAZING damage, especially after 2 items. But, Lux has some glaring weaknesses.

  1. She's immobile.
  2. Even though she's a high range mage, her waveclear isn't super great early on, and to blow someone instantly up she has to hit her binding which doesn't have THAT much range.
  3. She HAS to build some sort of mana item or is very blue buff reliant. This takes a lot of skill to decide, since building athenes for example will greatly push back her powerspike, and being reliant on blue buff will make you pretty much useless in a siege scenario if your team is behind or you died at any point (and so don't have blue buff.

Well considering you main Lux you really should know how to shut her down. Just think about the champs you struggle laning against the most.

And I don't think she works as well in high elo, unfortunately. We're the same rank so I can't say for sure but I think people in high elo are smarter about laning against her whereas people in our elo make a lot of stupid mistakes that you can take advantage of with one q.

Vaelfar1 votes

Well, I lost badly to brand once and sometimes zed, talon and leblanc can win also

shyv1 votes

i don't play zed or talon but i find leblanc is pretty good at winning lane against a lux, as well as ahri

zed is just strong in general, talon is decent if you know how to play him right though the removal of his silence was a pretty big nerf

i mean that site can be useful for learning new champs but you shouldn't rely on it. If you're laning against a lux but you're shit at katarina, just because lux is hard countered doesn't mean you should play kat. if you want to learn your counters, learn from playing, and understand WHY that champion counters you and how to work around it.

in the common people rank and mmr, lux normally lose hard to zed, literally every time zed has ult she dies

idk how things are in the upper class

last week i saw a zed feed lux, but it was zed's free week so

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

I don't remember Zed being too difficult until he gets QSS.

His ultimate has a decent animation length (so you have time to cast W for the shield) and he will always appear behind you (so you can reliably hit him with your Q if you time it right).

While Zed is snared, you can just drop your full combo on him and burst him down. This is only complicated if Zed has QSS (to remove the bind/passive and dodge your combo) or Hexdrinker (to survive the damage). However, you should be durable enough to survive with Barrier or Exhaust, W, and Seeker's Armguard.

Though, Zed's waveclear and poke can get rather annoying since Lux's E has a significant mana cost.

as a lux "somewhat" main, I can assure you that Lux vs Zed is a skill matchup. Zed has joke potential against everything in Lux's kit but it is very winnable

Nah, she is rather strong right now overall. You shoudl pick Ahri since pretty much no one counters ahri anyway.

Sire Hippington1 votes

i have a similar feel about her, though i have less problems with her oneshoting someone every now and then, but more with how disgustingly save she is and how much impact her shield can have in teamifghts on top of all that.

Her winrate in plat+ is >54% ever since the Q buff, and the pickrate is ~10%( http://champion.gg/champion/Lux ). That shows she's performing pretty great in higher elos. And she has the 3ed lowest deaths amongst midlaners, shiwing how save she is with her absurd range, good cc and insane shield.

For counters, yasuo can work if your good with him, the windwall can really screw her and his E enables him to actually reliably avoid her E in lane. But mostly, tanky guys can give her troubles. She has high cds and not that huge damage. It's enough to kill a squishy in one full rotation, but not more. A strong frontline can keep her at bay pretty well, even if they nerver get close enough to kill her, as she will need years on her own to kill tanks. Try midlane Chogath chogath, you can easily sustain through her poke with the passive, item 3027 +item 3001 makes it nearly impossible for her to burst you, and she has trouble dodgeing your Q, so you can create openings for your team to actually get ontop of her.

Rock MD1 votes

She's solid in solo queue. The best thing to do really is just to stay outfit of your minion wave so that you don't eat too much harass (don't get too close outside of your minion wave though), and get a Zhonya's 2nd/Hexdrinker rush.

Lux is verry immobile what can easy be exploited. The problem is in lower brackets of play they just don't punish it hard enouge.

BremerdanGorst1 votes

As far as champion picks go, someone who can go in on her the second she tries to Lucent Singularity is good, or alternatively, someone who can survive her burst. If she gets fed early, you just generally want to stall, she doesn't quite have the numbers to carry late game unless she's somehow hitting your carries every time.
