Stop punishing players for dodging a ranked game?

Ever since they started doing this, I could never understand it. Why punish a player for leaving a game before it starts? I can understand a time limit punish for players who dodge just because they want to play with a certain team comp.. But I can't understand punishing them LP wise. Listen here, I just got out of a ranked game I lost. Why did I lose? We had a troll bot lane. We knew this at the champion select screen. Problem is, I lose LP if I dodge so you mine as well just play the game and take the chance of still winning. Other reasons can be like if something JUST came up in someones life, and they realize they have to leave no matter what in 30 minutes. So they think to their self, "I'm going to lose LP if I dodge, so mine as well try to ff them by 30 minutes." Turns out the match last 45 minutes and your team suffered because you left 15 minutes ago. My idea is if you dodge a ranked game, Don't punish them LP wise. Start it out 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30, minutes, 1 hour. In that order I think is fair. Because if someone is constantly dodging, they shouldn't be able to keep requeing and stalling other players game times. I just think LP loss is extreme. I don't think it's fair you're forced to stay in a game you already know you're going to lose because of toxic players or something that recently came up. What are your thoughts?

There used to be no punishment for dodging, hence why dodging penalties came into place. How many times have you been in champ select, all bans done, last pick is up... and DODGE... queue back up, wait two minutes, someone declines the match. I personally don't want to wait 20+ minutes for one game.

i think a small amount of lp and a queue increase, increasing with repeated dodges, is an appropriate punishment but the problem is that making someone on the enemy team dodge doesn't give you any lp. i should be rewarded for banning out someone's main and forcing them to dodge. if they ban someone out in the lcs, do they just get a do-over on the champ select phase? no, the person who gets banned out has to suffer while the team that properly strategized pick/ban phase gets to win and move on.

because supposedly it would take hours for people to get into games cause everyone would be dodging.

I understand this. That's why I said, give them a time limit punish. Not a punish that reflects their skill. I don't want to wait 20+ minutes to play a game either. But I want to be able to leave if I know I'm going to lose already. I will gladly take the time limit penalty, but I don't think it's fair to take LP or lose a placement match which is way over the wall extreme.

Think about the time you've taken from your teammates and enemies, they were waiting to play. Sometimes they really get the champ they excell with, and you want to take this away from then without punishment?

In my opnion the Punishment should be even more severe, even in ARAM mode and especially on ranked.

The lp loss doesn't bother me too much, you know, I'd rather lose 3 lp than ~15 or something like that if I know I'm not gonna win. What does bother me though is, if I am in my promotion matches, and I know I'll lose because of some troll teammate or whatever, now this is a situation in which i DO mind dodging, because if I dodge it counts as a loss in my series, so I rather play and hopefully God will be merciful with me and help me win with the troll.
