If you got a certain elo after the first 10 placement games, then went on to win promos and even get promoted to a new elo, you should be awarded that elo back. This is a huge slap in the face to millions of people. I honestly dont think i want to play this game any more after the way they handled this.
Zielmann1 votesAny MMR you gained in that period was based off what were essentially bogus games, as far as matchmaking is concerned. This was the only legitimate way to handle it and keep MMR integrity intact.

Lord Desert1 votesBecause of the MMR mismatch in Flex Queue, you got reset to the original starting point (pre placements). But remember this is only Preseason, the rank you accomplish now WILL BE RESET AGAIN! The rank you get in preseason does only influnece the placement in Season 7 to a SMALL extend! (only your starting point in season 7 is affected by Preseason ranks) Sidenote: 1-2 Tier drops are completely normal in preseason.
I.E.: You were Plat 5 at the end of the season, were placed high Silver after placements, now got placed low Silver. If you now climb to Plat again, you will then only be placed in low Gold at the start of Season 7!
So dont worry to much about the current placement!
Those games were simply to unbalanced to be used for evaluating your rank. So they needed to reset :/
Kojike1 votesBy unbalanced you mean when bronze or silver players were beating plats? How is that unbalanced. the only thing that is unbalanced is league's ranking system. The poor kids that are stuck in low elo but rocked higher elos this preseason, that had confidence and moral restored are all devastated because of this rigged system. EVERYONE that placed higher than their current elo DESERVES to stay what they placed. THEY WORKED HARD FOR IT.
Lord Desert1 votesok but what about those who did not beat the overpowered enemies? is that fair to them? But trust me i totaly understand your point, if i beat challenger in hard games, i want to be rewarded for that too! But the reset is the choice which is the most fair to everybody!
I know this sucks, maybe it helps to view it as a challenge! You beat Plats! So should be able to climb to atleast plat this season! I heard from some other guys that they beat higher level opponents too, they were sad about the reset too, but they were also happy to see that and what they can improve!
On the other hand, this is just preseason! You rank here will only affect your starting point in season 7 a little bit!
