Evelynn rework idea

Hello everyone,

I am here to share with you my ideas for Evelynn rework. We all know she has problems and is on Riot's table for possibly even rework (tho it seems it will not be this year). Maybe my ideas can help for her rework to be really something good and viable! Riot pls read xD

I like Evelynn, I like how she is shrouded in the mystery and nothing is really known about her. She is the champion that is different then others but her kit is very hard to balance. Because of the perma stealth she suffers from not really being on balanced side.

Evelynn has skills which she is known for so it's not the best idea to completely remove them (her Q and E). The proposed idea makes a lot of changes to her kit, she would be different champion but maybe still similar to us who love her! I will write down my reasons why I would like her kit to be something like that, but first, her kit:

passive: Augury of Death: - When Evelynn dies her ghost creeps out a fear in the nearby enemy champions for 1 sec Q - Hate Spike: ACTIVE: Evelynn powers up her basic attack which also hits all enemies in a line of spike behind the target. With each Hate Spike Evelynn places mark (max.3) on her first target and deals 40 / 55 / 75 / 95 / 115 (+ 40% AP) magic damage on every target hit. (think something like Vi's E)

  • 1st mark - Shadow Walk resets on kill/assists on marketed enemy target (5 sec duration then the charge disappears)
  • 2nd mark - Evelynn heals herself for 30 / 45 / 60 / 75 / 90 (+ 50% AP) (10/9/8/7/6 sec cooldown on minions and unique champions)
  • 3rd mark - Evelynn stuns an enemy for 1 second (6 sec cooldown on unique champion) COOLDOWN: 1 (fixed) RANGE: 0-550 (basic attack hit - line of spike behind the target) COST: 12 / 18 / 24 / 30 / 36 MANA

W - Shadow Walk: ACTIVE: Evelynn dashes in the target direction, removing all slows affecting her and being untargetable for the duration (can dash through walls and ignores collision) COOLDOWN: 12 / 11 / 10 / 9 / 8 RANGE: 550 COST: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 MANA

E - Ravage: ACTIVE: Evelynn slashes her target twice, dealing 70/110/150/190/230 (+ 100% AP) total magical damage and applying on-hit effects with each slash. COOLDOWN: 9 RANGE: 225 COST: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 MANA

R - Fear of The Shadow ACTIVE: Evelynn shadow steps to target location and causes fear for 1 sec if the target is moving, attacking or using skills. (225 AoE range effect). While shadow stepping she is untargetable. COOLDOWN: 110/95/80 RANGE: 700/900/1100 COST: 100 MANA

some clarifications:

  • unique champions means it only affects that champion so she can't spam healing or stun on the same champion, but can do it again on the other enemy champion
  • 1st mark can be used on minions also, so it means she can dash 24/7 if she can manage the mana costs and kills new one each time for a reset

Alright, so why this changes, why no stealth? I mean, after all, stealth is what is Evelynn known for, right? Well, it seems that Riot doesn't like Stealth, they are changing it's mechanic and who knows what they will do with it! I am against perma stealth myself and I am afraid that, if stealth is changed for Evelynn, it will not be good enough.

Because of this reasons I wanted to find a way in which Evelynn could become very fun even without stealth and will also become assassin with skills that pay off with smart use. Read: Riot likes outplays, so let's make it possible for Evelynn to outplay opponents! It becomes possible with her new skill setup which gives her untargetable effect (Shadow Dash and Fear of The Shadow) which does have cooldown, but with resets and smart play she can be very viable even in big teamfights!

With her new Q she is awarded with great effects if she can continue to hit her targets, stun is possible only on 3rd hit so opponent can have a chance for a counterplay. Or, if you are great in positioning, you can even keep yourself a bit longer by healing off and stunning multiple champions or do some great anti-turret dive outplays against you.

As assassin and a champion who is shrouded in a mystery she should be feared! (Fear the Unknown). So here is her new fear mechanic which lives up to what she does, her ult does great AoE fear effect and the perfect thing is that is can also be countered! So it's not really broken (it should have shadow like visualization so it can be noticable). The best thing is that with that ult she also bring something for a team to a table instead of just her dmg, so she can be force and great choice for a teamfighter!

Her passive is that cool touch of uniqueness which makes her even more viable and you can outplay your opponents even if they kill you "Be really afraid of the Assassin you know nothing about!". That doesn't mean you should feed with her tho.

I am sure I have many grammar mistakes, I am not native English speaker and I am still in process of learning it.

I would really like to see changes like this, it is maybe not the best way to change her, but at least I've tried to do something a bit different. Maybe it's OP, maybe it's stupid for you, but it seems fun and viable for me :)
