To clear the question: Yes, I did lose to a Riven recently.
However, I'm not salty about it. It's an honest question that I put on hold until I had the "honor" to lane against one.

As a Riven main, I would say don't waste your ban on Riv.
Irelia and others do the same thing and are much easier to play.
I was going to vote no but I'm not a riven main.
Riven doesn't use mana because her name starts with an R... hue
but seriously, champs without mana were a thing at one point and they wanted to put it into all lanes I think. Manaless champs lose other goodies like the ability to push very effectively. She can farm she just isn't your pusher. She also doesn't scale that well with defensive itemization
Why does it matter? A champion will be balanced around the idea of having resource X, Y, Z, or none. As long as Riot balances properly, there's literally no difference other than theme.

True, she's in dire need of buffs and have been since release. I don't know how that helps your point, though.

I also took a look at your match in question.
Not even taking into account the rank discrepancy (your laning opponent was gold, whereas you are bronze, there is likely some game knowledge difference between you two on some level but that's not the big thing here)
Riven hard counters GP, unless you play hyper passively. It's just the way the cookie crumbles, if you misplay early when you're super squishy you're gonna die, if you misplay at six you're gonna die.
Riven likes to whittle opponents down to prep for all ins, and she heavily punishes those laning against her for making mistakes.
At the same time, she herself is super squishy and if she makes mistakes it's very difficult to recover from, whether it be dying needlessly or just losing a trade.

Not riven main, never played her in ranked. Was gonna vote no, I think she's balanced around this, but there isn't that option in poll (except for riven mains), so gotta downvote instead....
