The effect of AFK players on gameplay experience (ranked play)

I'm writing this because after many hours of gameplay and many dollars spent on this game, I'm slowly getting fed up with this game. While attempting to grind up the ladders in solo/duo ranked play, I find that the matchups are extremely uneven, but worst of all is the frequency that there are afk players from the very beginning of the game. I understand you have Leaverbuster, and that's great and all, but what does that do for the players that had to play in the game? Nothing really. Tell me, why is it that something that makes the game unfair like Riot-based lag and connection problems gives you a loss prevented, but having a 4v5 for an entire game doesn't? Is the point not to prevent punishing players for something they can't control? Does Riot expect a team with only 4 players to have a fair shot at beating a full team of 5? I would assume not, and if not, why should the team with a full-game duration afk player lose points? I'm not saying the winning team shouldn't get their points, I just don't think it makes sense for the team without a full roster to lose them. I think, that if Leaverbuster catches someone in a ranked game afk, that at the very least based on the duration they were afk, the loss of league points should be mitigated, if not removed entirely. I look forward to hearing other people's thoughts and seeing whether or not there are any Riot responses to this.

wall of text provokes tldr.

I've been curious about the win/loss rates and predictions, so I've been tracking the performance. www.lolskill.net provides an estimated expectation of the outcome of any given match, and of the fifty or so games I've measured, the expectations are consistent with a normal distribution: http://s32.postimg.org/aaa0drcwl/histogram_Of_Prediction.png

Next I wondered how the actual outcomes I witnessed compared to the predictions, so I mark them as true or false depending on if the prediction came out correct or incorrect. The history thus far looks like this: http://s32.postimg.org/phzn8z0gl/True_And_False.png

The spreadsheet can be viewed on google docs at: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/11yGk3qnPmm63YtV3FkvovmKGrECks1FQnzVYUdPW8ZY/edit?usp=sharing

AFKs are a huge problem for people who are trying to climb. Its far too common for people to climb comfortably. I think the LeaveBuster system is a completely terrible solution for the problem.

The solution for this problem is so exceedingly simple, I don't know why they haven't done it yet. All they have to do is create a system where players can queue up and take over from an AFK player in a game.

patch 6.10 is actually fixing this problem with its /remake feature basically if one person is afk at the start of the game and its say 1:40 you can just/remake and the afk person loses and the team gets to requeue for a new person.

Its gonna suck for the people who would have connected at 1min but people used /remake 20 seconds in giving them a loss....I think the "loss" the afk person gets should instead be a Queue dodge penalty of -3 first offense of the day and -10 second. The people afking are usually having technical problems so they shouldn't get full punishment either.

Still remake is gonna be really good
