All this DQ hate.. Let's talk
It's been interesting reading all the DW hate posts. One of the main arguments I keeps seeing pop up is being the solo player in the 5vs4+1 scenario.
I've personally experienced a bad pre made where I was that one guy in a 5vs4+1.
I saw it coming in champ select when I was getting flamed for picking gnar top. Guess what I did? /mute all at the start of the game, use it as an opportunity to practice my mechanics ie CS, pushing, teamfighting. Lost horribly in the end but I managed to do ok. Then I queued for another game and played fine.
The main thing was that even if I got reported by my whole team, chat logs and match data proved I was doing nothing wrong, so I didn't get any punishment.
Honestly I've had many far worse experiences in solo queue, with duos everywhere that troll because they didn't get to go duo bot, feeders, ragers etc.
When I'm queueing solo, I actually prefer getting matches with premades on my team.
I'll tell you why.
When you go premade, you are queued either with friends or with players that you've had a good match with previously and subsequently added (this is true for me, if you are making premades with someone for any other reason you are doing it wrong in my honest opinion).
With that in mind, you are far less likely to be toxic or to troll, because the people you are premade with are more than just another yoloq player that you will never see again. There are immediate consequences to behaving badly when you are part of a premade, as small as they are (those positive/skilled players no longer want to queue with you).
I think I've come across maybe 3 bad premades in 6 months, and maybe 10 or so bad solo players (bad as in toxic). Last season in soloq I was seeing ragers every 3-4 games, and that's a conservative estimate. I'm sure some of it has to do with role selection as well, but in my experience, premades keep each other in line, meaning for me, dynamic queue has become a more enjoyable way to play ranked!
