Give Supports Incentive, Bonus Ip or something

While I would like bonus stuff, Support mains already get incentives; their role is rarely taken from them.

I play support often enough to know that a bonus in IP wouldn't make me more likely to play the position. The problem is that a support is almost always at the mercy of the rest of the team. If the ADC is good, the support does well and everyone is happy, but if the ADC struggles its almost always the support who gets screamed at from the rest of the team.

It's a thankless position and often not a very active one. There is a reason that you'll see 2 ADC bot lane in normal, or some very unusual supports like Nidalee, Orianna or Volibear (all supports I have seen on the other side of a match.)

There is no real solution to this. Support grew out of a need to protect a very squishy ranged character who needs to get lots of kills early in order to scale up and be super effective later in the game. In a way the support position is a JOB. You aren't there just to have fun, but to keep the ADC from dying while giving them as many opportunities as possible to kill the other ADC and support.

It's not a surprise many players don't want to do it all the time.

Well many people just don't like supporting. Think about it its a role where you are another roles bitch and usually that other role is a whinny 3 year old, who thinks they are amazing at Ezreal. Nope most of the time they feed and blame it on me.

Need better support items. The stupid gold nerfs made me less want to play support.

The gold nerf was when they removed the global gold from the dragon. But still, they don't seem like they get all that little gold. When I duo with someone enough worse than me I can usually get the most gold on the team as the support.

Problem with giving them bonus IP is that the game can't tell who is the support. Now people play team builder and call themselves support when they play any of the roles so that they get more IP. Say hello to your support Zed mid and your support Lee jungle.

This would then bring out the "it's riot trying to force the meta" trolls, and we wouldn't want that.
