Galio Ultimate

I've recently started to play Galio in ranked where people usually try harder than in normals and I've noticed a very weird thing. I used R on a Lulu and Katarina that had about 30% hp left each (perhaps Lulu was at 40%), and my ult would have 100% killed them both, but what happened was that as my ult ended, Lulu managed to ult Kata and shield herself before my damage was applied, making both of them survive (and me die but that's another story). I noticed the same thing happening when in another match a Diana used Zhonya after being taunted for 2 seconds.

Is this a bug or is Galio's ult meant to work like this? Either way I don't think it's ok though, it's already hard to use it properly unless you flash but then if you do it and people can still escape it, what's the point?

for now im at least glad it isn't affected by tenacity anymore. you may have to record some gameplay footage and upload it. but yeah his ult is mostly for the CC in teamfights the damage isn't always reliable.

This has happened many times to me. Sometimes I wonder if they used a heal or something, but most of the time I don't get it. There is a brief delay between the explosion and the taunt, and champs can sometimes flash or zhonya to escape it (or activate other life savers). i am finding it very annoying as it's hard to land a perfect full damage Galio ulti, and when you do, they somehow escape it without their healthbar changing. This usually result in my checking for a QSS, tenacity isn't even meant to work anymore. These days I trigger my ulti early if I know I have reached max damage, but even so they have lucked out of taking any damage. I don't think it's meant to do this, it is very rare as I main Galio, and it happens once every couple of games, (which is I guess about 1/6-10 ulti's) but mostly with flash and dash champs like Katarina. It also might be lag, but I can't tell, I don't have replays to confirm one way or another
