How to Fix Kog'Maw
Dear Riot Games, and balance team.
I have a great way for you to fix Kog'maw
without losing his feel.
It is widely seen that Kog'Maw
is way to strong, and is an unfair champion. He has a near perfect win rate in LCS too.
I also read somewhere that the balance team felt that Kog'Maw's
Q felt too useless after moving the attack speed passive to his W. But I have the SOLUTION
Leave
's attack speed passive and bonus while active on his W. The solution is to make his Q provide the percent hp.
And here's how:
Make his Q a single target Skill-shot that goes through minions and stops on the first champion hit. > (and monsters? But maybe you want Kog to not shred baron as fast to help tone him down, your call).
The important part is that his Q would apply a mark to that ONE champion. Now that champion that was marked will take the percent health damage with reduced armor and magic resis. This makes
MORE effective at dealing with pesky tanks or in a 1v1, but it will greatly reduce his team fight which is the bulk of the problem; being able to full health Penta literally an entire team during the duration of his W is flat out toxic. This change would make him effective and shredding teams and tanks, but not doing both in the same active, To get the percent health on another target he would have to successfully hit Q again after a 6ish second CD. In order for it to work though it would have to be able to go through minions or it would become far to much of a hassle to get the damage off.
Rant; please don't say that Kog'Maw is perfectly fine as is. Its not the worst balance that has occurred (Better Nerf
), but it is still extremely toxic to be able to do what he does with only really needing 2 items. (
, and
). I'd also like to say that Nerfing the ITEMS is NOT the solution, Kog'Maw's team percent health is what needs addressed.
TL;DR
Overall, I think making
's percent hp damage only on one target both reduces his outrageous team damage while also giving his Q some love and maintaining his current machine-gun feel. Virtually everyone wins, aside from the poor sap that Kog'Maw
marks.
