What are your thoughts on Flex Queue? Did you like the old Ranked 5s system better?

The best part of ranked fives was the lack of rank restriction. With my friend group ranging from literally bronze to diamond, I just want to be able to play ranked with all of them. Were a tight knit group and it seems the only way we all can play together is via normals, which believe it or not is not competitive at all. Unrelated to the friend aspect, it almost seems that flex is completely troll and no one takes it seriously.

I'm very grateful I can get at the 'team 5v5' rewards as a solo player now.

Queue matchmaking is a bit of zoo, and I doubt that people are playing enough games seriously so their flex mmr gets to an appropriate spot for their skill, which just means it stays a zoo. Feel like this is largely an issue with players rather than with queue design though, so it's hard to address.

Im pretty indifferent, most of my main play group and I sit in gold and plat so we can still play together.

Love the concept of flex queue, hate how solo queue Plat+ players will troll around at Silver/Gold in flex. Not sure what a solution could be; if players don't take the queue seriously then that's about all there is to it. Ranked 5's had its own problems that flex helped solve, to the point that I wouldn't necessarily say the old mode was better.

I guess the short version is: it's hard to make a mode that caters to the competitive team aspect of the game, when most of the player base is casual.
