@Riot, mid mages getting stuck in bot lane is a systemic problem. Fix it

Malzahar is just the most recent victim to be added to the long list of mid AP carries that are now only viable and balanced around as supporters only. He'll likely won't be the last.

Just as, for example, tank items being generally useful on everyone has been a systemic problem that Riot is hoping to fix, so is an equally big problem the fact that most mid AP carries end up being, sooner or later, overpowered as supports.

Everyone's talking about Malzahar's recent nerfs, with the official patch notes very clearly and openly admitting that they're nerfing his mid lane power, which is balanced there, in order to fix him at bot lane. So it's official: Malzahar is no longer a mid lane carrier by Riot's own words.

Another one bites the dust Another one bites the dust And another one gone, and another one gone Another one bites the dust Queen

You can't really blame riot, if the community didn't decide to exploit " support mages " there wouldn't be the need for the nerfs. If you're going to blame anyone, blame the players taking Malz to bot as a support, Riot is just reacting to what's happening....not forcing it to happen.

Basically, the issue is that supports aren't allowed to solo lane ever, so they don't match up to other champs that get taken bot. The new idea is to nerf mages that go bot so they can't SUPPORT ever, but that makes it so they're just fucking garbage.
