Game Match-Ups: Low Accounts

Built to Tylt··1 votes·665 views

Okay, trying to level another account and I'm going against people as high as level 18. This is by far quite fucking ridiculous in all manner of ways. You need to fix this immediately, Riot.

In one aspect, it's good about introducing people to how unbalanced and broken and poorly made the game truly is. But on another, it's terrible because you kill any potential players committing to this (shit) product right off the bat.

In ranked or normal games?

Honestly, if you've played the game before, the game is going to recognize it and place you higher than it would a complete newbie. If a Plat player makes a new account, most likely they aren't going to be playing like a new player. They are going to do stuff like get high CS, rotating, being able to 1v5. So, it's going to adjust their standing quickly so these new players aren't stuck fighting against a clearly higher skilled player.

That's a negative, sir, and not what I'm meaning to portray. As a level 6 account playing against people 13-18, it's quite an unfair advantage. There needs to be some kind of bracket where only a 3-4 (?) level difference are matched together/against. As you're leveling your accounts, you unlock new rune spaces and summoner spells. A level 6 account is at a severe and crippling disadvantage compared to a level 18 account.

I get what you are saying, and yeah, having access to keystones and runes are obviously an advantage over people who don't. But if you are playing at a higher skill level, they will pit you against higher skilled people, regardless of how unfair it may be.

Just had a ranked game with a level 24 account who was playing their first ever ranked game and another teammate claimed this was their promo game. Is it fair that we got the new person without a complete rune page or masteries in this guys promos? I don't think so, but that's how the system works.

So you are just intentionally glossing over the whole point of this post's comment on the broken matching system?

DemainaNyx1 votes

I never said that. I said it's going to match you against people who play closer to your skill level. I think it's stupid that a person with 20 games of experience is playing with someone with 2000 games of experience, but that's how the system works.

So by your logic and sticking to the original message of the post, some one's 'skill level' would warrant a level 6 account playing against a level 18 account.

That is literally what you are saying.

I don't care HOW the system works. The entire POINT of this is how it SHOULDN'T be this way.

I think what demayna is trying to say is, this is the mmr calculating, and/or anti-smurfing system at work. If you play better than a level 6 would, you will be matched against higher level players. As it should.

If you're really that good, you won't need a keystone. And trust me, the majority of 18's will NOT know what a keystone is. There are quite a few level 30s out there that have no idea and have to be schooled mid game about it.

PS: Smurfin is bad, mkay

LOL. Smufing can be bad if you're doing it in rank to troll-stomp lower skilled players. If you're just trying to make multiple accounts (as many do) to progress as far as you can, nothing wrong with that. :P

yes so funny when people are trying to relax and have fun in a norm game, for a change, and get troll-stomped. nothing wrong with that.

Yeah, it's really not. Hate people that do that.
