I hate to move on from this game :(

I just need to vent a little bit and get some closure.

My girlfriend any myself live on almost literally opposite sides of the world. We don't get to see each other often. We are both currently doing our PhDs and are very busy but we always make some time for each other each day when we can.

Usually we skype, but we used to play LOL all the time cause it was fun. Your game literally connected us across the world together and we felt closer when we played together.

Recently, you guys have made so many changes to the game that it is literally unplayable for us. You have changed the game so much, that only people who constantly play the game (such as pros and 14 year olds) can keep up and enjoy. Regular people that used to have so much fun with the game can't keep up with all the nonsense that you guys keep adding and changing to the game.

We have never played ranked nor care to, and we have never bought skin/wards/etc. because we literally played the game to have FUN.

My tipping point is this: We have stopped playing many months ago cause it became unplayable and you sent me an email asking for my feedback. I was happy to fill this out to give you my thoughts on why I don't play anymore and I truly wanted to give some suggestions to improve the gameplay because I really wanted to go back to the game I used to play with my friends across the world. Your game was truly an international phenomenon that I wanted back in my life. BUT, as I was filling out the survey, the only questions you cared to ask about were the cosmetics. You only asked for my opinion on skins/chroma packs/summoner icons/ward skins and thats it. End of survey. Not if I enjoy the game, or improve gameplay, or user experience, etc. I couldn't give you my opinion cause I never bought any of those things and it became clear to me that you guys are just interested in the money. I don't know why I expected anything else, but I guess that's just how life is.

I hope you guys continue making more and more money, but I just wanted to say that regular people who just wanted to play the game to have fun can't anymore. Not even if you mute everyone, the game itself is just getting out of hand and to weird and unplayable for regular people who don't play every single day. We have moved on a while ago to other games.

You guys at riot keep doing whatever you wanna do but I just wanted to give my actual opinion since your stupid survey didn't ask for it.

I am sad that I lost one of the best ways to keep in touch with my international family.

Just one thing, what change exactly caused you to quit?

First to clarify this is not my main account. It is not exactly one change. It is the many changes and the drastic changes you are making constantly. I'm not saying don't make changes I'm just saying don't completely change the dynamics.

The changes I absolutely despise are the reworked champions especially mordekaiser and sion. I loved, I MEAN LOVED the sold sion with 75% lifesteal ult that was so entertaining, and I LOVED the original mordekaiser. I can't stand this bot lane mordekaiser meta as a replacement for adc with the stupid damage from his 3rd q. Sion used to be just the funniest manmode champion but now I can't land a q or ult cause it is so clonky (unless you play this game all the time which as a PhD student I can't)

Also wtf is up with graves? Why do i have to reload now just to shoot someone in the face? And darius healing an insane amount from his q?? like the champion was already broken (for regular players) but now he is a menace to society. WTF does fiora ulty even do? I've only seen pros use it right - but I guess thats who you marketing for.

I'm just saying I can't keep up with so many changes because there are now so many BS little in game strategies and interactions and I don't know how one relates to the other. I liked the simple kill the enemy team and destroy their base.

Also why is it so god damn hard to jungle now, I can barely clear properly with junglers I used to main without almost dying at every single turn unless I aggro properly. Once again making the game for just the pros not the regular people who have regular mechanics. I should not have to aggro and have specific runes, and specific mechanics just to clear the damn jungle. Clearing the jungle is more of a struggle than ganking the damn lanes.

Whatever I guess I'm now just an old man complaining with my cane.

Let me clarify something really important, I am not affiliated in any way with Riot games I was genuinely interested in your reasoning behind your frustration of Riot's lack of clarity and changes in game dynamics.

The game is changing mostly because the simple bread and butter gameplay of league is growing stale and they know they cannot sustain the game in it's old binary state. They called this initiative "strategic diversity", I am sure you heard this term thrown around enough early on in season 5. If the sudden changes in the game dissuade you from playing my advice would be to give it time and let them stick. Eventually they will find a satisfying state of the game and let it continue existing that way.

As for the survey questions it is well known that Tencent owns 94% of Riot games and as a result the direction of league is able to be heavily influenced by them which would be the reason for the stonewalling survey.

I understand that when something you love is replaced by something else you may find it difficult, however lack of change leads to stagnation and that was what league was facing.

Also to address the argument of the pro's which you made numerous examples of, they simply exploit every strength and advantage they can get from the meta, it is not specifically catered to them. Would you complain that a desert favours some animals over others? Animals need to adapt to survive their environment which Is what the pro's have done very well in league and what separates successful players from those who struggle and complain about elo hell

I've already moved on to funner stuff I'm not willing to stick it out until it becomes satisfying - that is terrible logic for a video game. The simple bread and butter gameplay is what made the game so good. Everyone I knew used to play this game. The simplicity added to it, not took away from it. It was a simple and enjoyable and fun to play. Stagnation is not always a bad thing, it is sometimes good. It's just annoying to go from everyone I knew playing league (most of my friends are internationally located) to now no one playing league cause the game is just too weird now.

I absolutely want the pros to exploit every advantage they can from the meta. They should be doing that I encourage it. I feel they are making these changes to balance pro play which ruins it for the rest of us. If that is not the case then these changes are just random. Like why rework sion like that instead of just making a new champion cause they are completely different now? Why get rid of him?

I am not complaining about elo hell, I have never played ranked nor will I ever. I don't care to be ranked in this game. I'm just upset they turned a simple good game into a high maintenance game.
