I is Kayn··5 votes·3,247 views

so i am a silver 3 player who plays for around 1/2 - 2 years now. i thought my rank was pretty good for the time i played but then i saw tobias fate. he says he plays since s3 got gild there is now after around 3 years master. or yassuo, plays for 3 years and went from silver in s3 to diamond s4. so am i just a really bad player or are they just special cases?

it's honestly just tied with intelligence and game knowledge

by game knowledge i don't mean you know every champ, but i mean you know what you should do in almost all situations

and intelligence? every low elo players i saw in my life do extremely questionable decisions that i tell myself everytime "how the hell can someone think like this?"

A lot of them are younger players too, need time for their brains to develop.

Actually there are some really young genius in almost every games. I had a 13 years old teammate random grandmaster back when i played Sc2, also one of the best player in the world, Life was 15 years old.

These players have some incredible mecanics and reaction time young people can master easier than, lets say, 35/40 years old.

Thats why they're genius. And yeah young have better mechanic (learn better and faster)

just bad player. coached a guy from silver 1 to diamond 5 in a season. some ppl just cant improve on some games. But its fine league is a shit game nowadays anyway. I might be diamond in league but i for sure would stomp anyone in the challenger ladder in a battlefield 4 match :P everybody is good at different things you dont need to compare yourself to others.

I have a theory. A lot of these people who make it to Diamond and Challenger in only a couple years, I always notice this happened to them in early seasons, the seasons between 2 and 4. I started playing in early to mid season 5. My theory is that the general skill level of the population was so low in the early seasons that it didn't take much to figure to stomp your way to high elo. They had it easy. Fast forward to today and the average League player is 100x more skillful that his equal in rank 4 years ago. In other words, a Diamond player in season 4 would have been just as skilled as a high Bronze to low Silver player today.

Now this just leaves the obvious question, why are they still able to make it to high elo today? Well, they are still growing in skill and along with the rest of the population as they continue to play throughout the seasons. A season 4 Diamond player grows in skill and as a result maintains his ability to play at a Diamond level in later seasons. In other words, he is not left behind as the community around him gets better. He gets better with them but he already has a head start. The problem with us relative new comers the general level of skill and knowledge is so much higher. In essence, we are playing catch-up. We have to learn a whole lot more than they had to in their time just to climb a couple tiers.

You need to play alot and be determined to improved. You can't just want to improve and do nothing.

I got plat 5 my 1st year in season 6, started bronze 5. Although I played like 3000-4000 games that year. I think thats a little more than the average person

xD thanks, I'm still in school so other than that I got a good amount of free time. I just played league with friends like every night basically.

But yeah, I say just watch videos of people coaching others or talking about what you can do to climb from 'x' elo. It helped me alot

Everyone is different. There are like people that have been playing for around a year and are still in bronze, and people who've been playing just as long and are in gold, plat, diamond, etc. I wouldn't say you're a bad player, silver isn't a bad rank, it's average.

I went through something pretty similar. My first season I began Bronze, made it to Plat (S4), made it to Diamond my second season (S5). I didn't really play much last year, but I've made it to Masters this season.

I think some people climb relatively quickly because of a combination of factors including personal motivation, good attitude, and intelligence (but anyone can climb with hard work), the hard work starts to come at around Diamond, which is why it takes longer to make it to Masters/Challenger from Diamond.

Late season 1/early season 2 starter. Still never been past silver solo.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Depends how much you play a day

a combination of luck, determination, age (motar reflexes start to degrade around 24-25 which is why most pros are around there early 20s) health (if you have arthitis in your hands your probably never gonna climb as high), and ability to pick up on stuff.

There is a real difference between playing and trainning. Some people are training while they are playing and without even noticing.

Some people are just playing.

While playing you might get slightly better, slowly. While trainning you are focused and consistently improving.

A good analogy would be : If i'm listening a song ten or twenty times while doing something else, hardly noticing the lyrics, and not being focused, I will maybe remember the chorus. If i'm dedicated to learning this song, repeating the lyrics, singing while hearing, I will remember it.

Training is : 1) notice you did something wrong > 2) figure out what you should have done > 3) Remember it >4) Never do this again > 5) go back to step 1.

If you consistently get rid of mistakes in your gameplay, you improve and climb naturally. Sometimes it takes time to understand what you did wrong, or what you should have done. It may even require another point of view.

My issue with climbing is that I don't play enough ranked. I'm confident I'm better than most people in silver and even gold, but I don't play enough games to actually rank up. This is probably the most serious I've been in ranked before and I have gone from silver 3 to silver 1 100 LP in 30 games. I think most people in diamond and challenger just have way more games the the rest of the population.

u are a bad player... if u are just silver after ur 3 season (no offense, u are better in other thing than the game... maybe). But it depend on intelligence (so wisdom, age...).
