Why change Garen?

Why would you change a champ that might have the most balanced kit in game. And not a fucking Olaf who has a crazy ability that gives TRUE damage every couple seconds. There isn't any counter play to that, plus his ult that you can't CC him.

He has no control over who he can deal true damage too. From what I understand they're nerfing his silence and slowing him when his spin is hitting a champion now as well, so now he's even easier to kite.

For good reason. Garen currently doesn't have a balanced kit. When Garen gets ahead, he is insanely ahead; Garen can 100 to 0 someone in a matter of seconds and can another one or two enemies depending on how fed he is and the players' skill. Then when Garen is behind...it is quite the feed feast, he can't even damage the enemy without dying to them because he is purely melee. When Garen goes even, still he isn't useful, a terrible choice in comparison to the likes of Shen, Maokai, Hecarim and others.

Right now, Garen has to dominate otherwise he just feeds really.

Theyre reworking him because his kit is super stale, and he is actually like, one of the worst champions ever, he might not feed often, but he is, or was, so useless late game, a champions with just a speedup and no gap closers that has damage that falls off is just terrible, garen was, and never will be played in high elo, he works off of positional errors, REALLY BIG positional errors.

Honestly, the current Garen on the PBE is pretty strong now after the 8/6 changes. They're also planning to test out adding Critical Strikes back into Judgment in the 8/7 update for the loss of .05 AD ratio on Judgment which is going to make him even better. Deadman's Plate is superb on him too, which I assume is part of why he feels so much better.
