The downfall to champion changes.

Hello everyone.

I just wanted to discuss something today that's been really bugging me. Lately many champions are being re-worked and changed, sometimes for the better sometimes not. For players like me, who tend to main certain champions and only use a handful of them, this is really irritating. I'll start with Mordekaiser. Sure he had some flaws, and sure he wasn't perfect. But I loved the old Mordekaiser a million times more than the current updates they've done on him. His problem wasn't that of being "Too OP", such as Kassadin's silence, or Talon's silence, but rather his kit wasn't the best. But I loved playing the old version of him. After the updates, I have quit playing Mordekaiser, not because I couldn't get used to the new one, but because he's no longer Mordekaiser to me. His style of playing no longer matches with mine. Today I've noticed, that many of the champions that I play, Vladimir, Malzahar, Zyra, Syndra, Cass, are all being changed dramatically, even if it's just 1 or 2 moves, it's a dramatic change. This COULD be for the better, but that doesn't necessarily mean it will be. What I'm saying is, Rito is yet again changing the style of how you play the champion. It's very frustrating for people, again, like me that only main a handful of champs and play them. I wish it wasn't this way. I wish that there were a way that Rito could implement a system in which you could play the old version of a champion (obviously if it was nerfed, it'll remain nerfed) instead of the new one if you wanted to. All I know is that these are some of my favorite champions. Yeah I've branched out to other champions as well, but these are the ones that I connect with the most. I just hate seeing champions be turned into completely different things, and I'm sure others do too. Please Rito. Don't do this. Improve, but don't change my champions.Zyra Vladimir Malzahar Syndra Mordekaiser Cassiopeia

Sincerely,

A concerned Summoner.

isnt that impossible by definition? to improve something you have to change it.

His problem wasn't that of being "Too OP", such as Kassadin's silence,

actually that was exactly the problem. i dont think youve been around when morde was actually a strong pick. he was a constantly waveclearing, pushing monster.

the focus on his e as a main poke/damage tool wasnt just a problem because it allowed him to push minion wave after minion wave without ever leaving lane, while hitting his opponent at the same time, when he wanted to cs, but also because he was able to keep his shield up 24/7 which made trading back impossible.

he used to outfarm everyone by almost 100 cs at 20 minutes.

not only that, but a giant metal man with a hugeass mage just thematically didnt mesh with his hit and run poke playstile.

making his damage more focused on melee with his q makes much more sense. tbh, i dont know why they didnt give him an entirely different e.
