How is this balanced matchmaking?

League of Legends Match History

This is the match I was just a part of. I played Lucian bot lane, and I'm still learning champions and roles, and I love the game. I just question the balance of the matchmaking system. How is it fair to a team comprised of people from level 18-24 to play against a team of people from level 18-30, and the 30's they had being ranked Silver and Gold? The game was stacked against us from the start. Not just the skill of those two players, but the experience they have of playing the game longer, and having mastery/rune pages that are fully fleshed out. I just don't understand. Can someone from Riot explain how this is fair to new players? Also, community, is this a common problem others have had?

i recently played a game with a lv 13, and lv 10 one per side, against 2 people in plat, and one in diamond..... how is that possibly ever fair no matter what the mmr is.... a lv 10, no runes, 1 game won is playing against lv 30's with tons of games, full runes and masteries....

Dude, that's crazy. I completely understand how ridiculous that is and agree that's it's unfair. I think it should prevent people that are below 30 from matching with people who are ranked. Or at least restrict it somehow.

If a dude teams up with a Gold and Silver, the game will have a wider range of skilled players.

Okay, but our range was small, 18-24, while the range on the other team was 18-Gold. Definitely not the same skill set.

I think what the problem is, is that LoL tries to gather a group of 10 people in similar skill level, but when the two teams are made, it's random. So one team may end up being more skilled than the other.

Sounds like a crappy system. :(
