Nocturne

Nocturne is a champion that I have a fondness for and that many players have a liking for too. He is a unique champion who has not received much attention simply because he has always been just okay. I have a few Ideas on how to make our night loving friend more competitive in today's meta.

Doing this to Nocturne seems pretty difficult because his abilities are all key parts of what makes him, him, but I think I have a couple solutions.

Duskbringer: As far as this ability goes I think it is a good ability, but it is outdated and really doesn't lend itself to an "Assassin" playstyle, for now I would leave this be unless attempting a full rework.

Shroud of Darkness: This ability again is good, but it has some pretty key counterplay that comes with just being a spell shield. The first fix I recommend is allowing it to block empowered auto attacks to allow for Nocturne to survive against hard matchups such as Nasus Nasus . Secondly I would give the reward a little extra Umph. The extra attack speed you get is good, but it really isn't noticeable because you are already whacking away at stuff.

Unspeakable Horror: My only grief with this ability is that most champions nowadays either kill Nocturne before this goes off late game or they break it before it goes off. I can't really think of anything for this other than that.

And finally Paranoia: My biggest change I think comes here. This thing needs to be figured out hardcore. Firstly, it does next to no damage on its own (which is honestly just a personal problem for me). Second, if this applied some sort of debuff/buff like, I don't know allowing Unspeakable Horror to be activated instantly on the targeted person, or maybe fearing the target on landing that would be gamechanging! Finally is the vision. Personally I think that the vision denial of this is absolutely needs a buff! Maybe adding some more scare factor than just a darkened screen? My biggest Idea for this is to simply deny all vision of entities (Players, Minions etc) unless they are directly on top of the player while adding sort of a Rek'Sai RekSai tremor sense affect so that they at least sort of know what is going on, (Would help with lore connecting Rek and Noc).

Anyway, I know that I suggested some big changes, but I hope that at least some of them have resonated! Feel free to leave a comment below and thank you for your time! -Comprehension81 [slayer-jinx-wink]

You can fix Noct by making his Q apply in the full area, not as a bunch of small circles that causes him to not get the buff sometimes even when standing on the trail...

His W needs a rework entirely. His presence isn't strong enough with how the game works now for W to have the impact it was originally intended to have. Nocturne would have been better with Malz's passive's effect than Malz as a replacement, gaining attackspeed if its dropped. Both healthier for the game on him and more thematically fitting. Most of all, it would actually make sense on him as far as gameplay, unlike Malz.

His E needs a rework as well. Delayed CC is so useless with the direction the game is moving unless you actually have the tools and range to work around it (Karma, Morg, Viktor, Raka [since it also silences before], etc). Nocturne does not. It needs to be re-done entirely, tbh. And I would prefer not to change it, because its a really unique and cool ability overall.

His R is fine overall. Maybe give it a boost like "automatically causes target to leave a dusktrail" as a decent QoL buff if he's not receiving significant changes. Your R changes would likely be appreciated, though. Idk about fearing on landing, but it depends on other changes.

Nocturne, with his kit, is supposed to be a skirmisher on the level of Trynd/Jax/Fiora/Yi; almost entirely auto-attack focused. However, due to the tools at his disposal compared to them, he's often forced to go full tank or full AD as an assassin.

He needs to be adjusted to fit his intended role so he can function successfully in today's meta.

Nocturne changes to his q and w that came up with! Do note that I've played him since I started 4 years ago.

Q: Nocturne now passively gains increased mobility through minions per rank, at rank 5 he now has no unit collision and his Q now allows him to go through walls

W: now also absorbs a percentage of the damage (scaling with his AD) that would have been dealt to him. Gains that percentage as his own attack damage for 1-3 auto attacks.

Also his passive is lame as fuck. It can't even crit, it's just a flat +20% AD auto attack in an aoe, that heals flat health, only being up every 10 seconds. Either make its cooldown scale down with cdr (would be fucking awesome) or allow it to crit, or both.

As for his e, I really can't come up with any changes other than outright scrapping and redoing this ability.

Maybe allow his ult to scale with crit chance as well, though that would be broken :D

If his ult feared you upon contact it would probably be toxic to fight.

My suggestion is to make his W like fiora's - it blocks everything for a time, and if it blocks some spell, he gets his autos. Cause when I'm being 1v3ed, that shield is nice, but it doesn't do a whole bunch. And your change to the ult, I'm envisioning like a quinn blind, which I am totally in favor of. 100%

Let him Pass through terrain when using Q. Boom just the buff he needs.

Ik this is probably a bit op but it would be cool if everyone around the targeted person got terrified. Like he jumps in and terrifies everyone but the targeted person needs to fight him. So kinda like urgots ult in a way. It wouldnt be a long terrify but it would make his dives in the teamfight a little more useful because he usually dies as soon as he pops in right now.
