Riot, what's the plan with Fiora?

feed Skaarl··8 votes·1,105 views

After being hit super hard by the nerf bat (passive, E range, E slow, titanic nerf), a 50% winrate champion is now at 45% winrate.

So, what's the plan? Let her rot there until her next rework?

Okay so, look at the builds they have, both are still trying to go Bruiser/tank still, that's not going to work, she doesn't do enough damage like that, she needs more ad, she needs to be built glass canon. Or at least 4-5 damage items. These nerfs have proven that in fact she is not as easy as everyone thought, her win rate is down 9.3% from experienced to new players, and now that people have to be squishy and rely on their positioning and be aware of when and how to go in.

I only see 1 defensive item and 1 bruiser item maybe in those builds.

The thing is there is a reason people started building more tanky: it was better than full cannon (everybody went full dmg at first, it's something proven). So, how is going full dmg being good now that fiora is nerfed to the ground when before It wasn't even that good? I mean, yeah you need more damage now that the passive base is 2% but a glass cannon fiora gets blown up pretty easy and the E range and slow nerfs (from 80% slow at max rank to 30% at all ranks, wtf) makes harder to stick to people.

Woaow man its down a whole 1%!? Welp shes officially trash. Let me tell you something, I have only played Fiora glass canon and I have barely noticed the nerfs. Yes the slow was reduced a lot, but couple the phage passive and her vital move speed alongside her ult move speed her trouble sticking aren't too noticeable. For her being blown up, try Deaths Dance and Phantom Dancer, it allows her to live more and if you have a heavy life steal build you will be okay on survivability.

She has worse scalings and base damage. Going full damage will result in her doing less damage than she did if she built that pre-nerf, while still having that same problem of being blown up because you're a melee champion that dared to build squishy.

No, I'm pretty sure she's probably just bad now.

Oh buddy, your ignorance is showing they BUFFED her scaling and while yes, they did lower the base damage, the scaling is still up meaning up until level 18 you're doing more damage, and at level 18 that 1% is unnoticeable. She does run the risk of being blown up but that's why she doesn't act as a front line, essentially as AD Fiora you have to wait for an engage, does that make sense?

It's a nerf early game too. Btw, chill man.

Well... Someone with a late game like he shouldn't have a super strong early game, all they need to do is revert the W changes and she'll be balanced.

Apparently they reverted the nerf to late-game scaling for the patch, so I stand corrected.

It's okay, I was pretty butt hurt by the nerfs too, but it'll be okay.

She was 100% balanced before 6.6 but now she is weaker -.-

"Yo Riot, I tried to all in my laner at 25% hp and I died, FIX FIORA NOW!"

Because initial results are perfect evidence for the long term.

They usually are. Might not be in this case because we don't know how we'll she'd do with a more offensive build but it's data worth looking at regardless. Usually post-nerf/buff win rates are very stable.

feed Skaarl2 votes

The more offensive builds were used a lot. Only when koreans started building titanic everybody started doing that because it was better.

It's not like nobody tried full dmg fiora.

I'm talking about post-nerf. Since her nerf last patch people haven't really been switching back to offensive builds, they're still trying to make tanky Fiora work.

This is what is going on, you have to be risky to get Fiora's reward of absurd damage.

No one seriously expected her to be good after this patch right? She was actually sitting at about 50%. That's as close to balanced as possible. Then on top of that she has very hard counterpicks where she just can't do anyhting in that lane. Now she is just straight up weaker early game.

You have to be completely ignorant of how league works to expect a melee to build squishy and succeed and no one tank item doesnt make you tanky. Especially now when people can blow you up from a range. Does anyone actually expect fiora to build squishy and still function especially when she doesn't have a burst kit but rather a sustained damage one? I tried riot's version where I built damage. I did damage sure the issue was I couldnt do anything if I got ganked or jumped on as I just melted. If I survived then my hp would be too low to even do anything so I either backed off or died.

SlaktarTasken1 votes

Can we at least let players adjust to the changes before we start screaming for buffs? These kind of things can take some times to figure out, good Fioras are still opressive in lane and will still faceroll, they will simply have to play a hell of alot better if they want to steamroll straight counters unlike pre nerfs.

LadyRenly1 votes

So...is Fiora back to building as if she were Tryndamere again? Or is she supposed to build all the AD items that have health stacked on it(titanic, cleaver)?

Quepha1 votes

She's a high agency champion with a lot of mobility and a need to read enemy telegraphs to properly bait key cooldowns with Riposte, a high skillcap champion like that should only be considered balanced when their winrate is hovering around the likes of Lee Sin.

Lady Hammerlock1 votes

Its a simple answer: Riot needs to find away to buff Normal primarily AD Fiora while not even touching bruiser fiora

MunchCrunchLunch1 votes

titanic is not meant for fiora. if i was riot. I would nerf her even more because shes a stupid champion that nobody should have to deal with quite honestly. shes still strong. no needs for buffs. or they just completely change her quit or something

yea you will nerf her even more because u dont know how to deal with a fiora even tho she is waay 2 easy to deal with now ? & she's squishy and now they nerfed her passive? which makes no sence since tank fiora and ad fiora dosen't work now?

Slack King1 votes

Because now less people are just face rolling with her, causing them to actually learn how to lane and fight. Where before you built tanky and just mashed buttons

Tryzzor1 votes

Guys, just because a champion you use is nerfed doesn't mean you go complain in boards. Riot is constantly nerfing and buffing champions trying to make gameplay more enjoyable and equal. Fiora is still a good champ. And btw a lot of champs have less than 50% winrates. FIora has a low winrate because shes played a lot and people don't know how to play her which makes her winrate go down. Not because of a nerf.

Well the same goes for you guys , since riot going to nerf and buff ? why do you start saying nerf fiora and nerf fiora???

Tryzzor1 votes

Because people don't know how to outplay different champs and when they start losing apparently a champion needs to be nerfed.
