Odd Matchmaking

So, this isn't about gameplay per se, but more pre-game. I had queued up for top (primary) jungle (secondary). I was assigned mid, which I guess happens sometimes, no biggie. My friend that I was playing with though was queued up for bot/support and was autofilled for jungle. I thought this was pretty weird considering I could have gotten jungle, thus leaving only 1 person to be autofilled. Anyone have any idea what's up with that?

I got a guess- nobody works on matchmaking development near quite enough where it's consistently decent. the game is a ruin riot is a shit company. Just a guess :)
