Katarina, Assassins: Skill Ceiling or Skill Check
One if the major points of the assassin rework other than creating room for counterplay seems to have been to add more depth to certain champs. For some, this meant raising the skill ceiling/floor - or at least that was the intent.
My thoughts are mostly relating to Katarina, but I think it can be applied to a few others as well. From the little I've seen thus far, Katarina's success seems a bit too reliant on her opponent making a mistake, rather than her out playing said opponent. Quite a bit of her damage is gated to picking up daggers, which is incredibly easy to avoid - basically a check to see if someone learned to not stand in the bad stuff.
Can I get some thoughts on this from Katarina players? I don't have much experience with her, so maybe I'm just adjusting to the change more slowly. Engaging on someone caught out can be pretty frustrating a lot of the time, but I do see some potential with a double dagger pickup in teamfights. My main point is, in my opinion, as an assassin Katarina should be able to look for opportunities to apply controlled burst as opposed to waiting for an opening that may never occur against a competent player.
just became more useful on kat. It is defiantly harder to play her now because basically all of her damage now focus's on making sure to pick up daggers at the right point which is kinda annoying but i feel like shes a lot more fun then the old kat with some practice ( i speak from experience 2nd game 20/1/5) AND SO MANY SHUNPOS IVE SHIT ON EVERY LB I FOUGHT JUST BY DANCING AROUND THE BITCH.
