Discussion on the current state of azir

Hello fellow summoners I am very curious about what people think of Azir he is one of my best champions i think hes perfect the way he is now but i want the opinion of other people from different perspectives so i have a few questions to talk about

do you think he is broken and if so why
is he easy to counter or is there little to no counter play
do you agree he is one of the hardest champs to play/master
and if you think there are any champs that do his job better example

i'm super excited to see what you all think about Azir but just to remind you don't be toxic keep it civil don't be rude its okay for someone to think differently than you thanks for any insight you give :)

He is currently nerfed into an almost unplayable state, on top of requiring incredible amounts of manual dexterity and timing to play.

He used to be overpowered, which is why the ten ton nerf bat was applied about 8 times.

im unsure where the nerfs came from azir still had a low winrate since release if i rember correctly

He is still viable, definitely playable, just great in a lot of ways. He isn't broken though, he does have counterplay but he doesn't really have any hard counters. He isn't really that hard to play, but he is hard to master. All you need to play him really is just some good positioning (I like to go behind a wall and just put down all the dps on the enemy frontline, backline if I can.) Any champ that does his job better? Well he's a DPS champ, with a liandry's he would just melt tanks. Cassiopeia May do it, but she's more mana hungry and can't take towers and clear waves as fast. Also doesn't have as much range as him. She only has the advantage of higher damage and speed during a fight. Probably Karthus but he's mana hungry too and isn't as mobile. His damage goes pretty even(ish) with azir's though.

i really love azir for the play making cassi and karthus i feel like cant do it like azir can cassi for sure is better in current patch

With karthus I kinda can, and with Cass her heal from the E is just great for random 1v3's lol

Issue with azir, is that in the hands of a godly player he's broken. Even now he's extremely good, his early game is poor, and his midgame is alright, I'd say he almost has the same issue with vayne. They both need to get to lategame to deal great damage, but azir is still useful with his ult even if behind.

He's just hard to balance, a very big champion that can do a lot in a mastered players hands.
