Why do you think Yasuo is cancer?

Hello, fellow Yasuo main here. I always see Yasuo hate in a lot of places I go regarding League of legends and as I main him I would like to know why. I know a lot of people are just going to whine and cry and be annoying, but I would actually like to see some intelligent responses. (which is why im making my own thread) If you come here just to rant then you can leave, but if any of you actually have some good arguments then I will read them as i am genuinely curious. Feel free to post opinions, stories, and tell me what you main. Thank you.

Passive is hard to deal with as a melee champion.

His Q goes pretty far and it's also very hard to go against as a melee.

His windwall blocks ults for the whole team.

Dashes as long as there's minions.

50% armor penetration.

100% crits.

Resourceless, and has strong auto attacks which makes for an amazing early game.

He has more outplay potential than Vayne..and he's just so overplayed that it gets annoying to be fighting the same guy who gets a pentakill and you try all these counters and techniques but he still finds a way to snowball, even without kills he'll still do a bunch of damage. He's a hypercarry that can go all in and get a kill at level 2.

Yeah, another Yasuo main here. To be honest, I like him, but I want him to be made harder and MUCH less easy for beginners to pick him up and do well. Maybe lower how long he can hold his whirlwind, increase his E cooldown for the first two ranks so you have to max it first, just like any remotely competent player would. Things like that.

Yasuo has an annoying kit. Teemo levels of annoying. Stupidly high mobility. Great defensive tool with his shield (that is recharged when he ults). Tilt inducing Windwall. Hard CC.

But that's not the biggest part of the problem. We have plenty of annoying kit champions. Pantheon, Teemo, Garen, Leblanc, Fizz. The problem is: Yasuo happens to be an hyper carry that scales extremely well into late game WHILE HAVING A STRONG EARLY AND MID GAME. He has no downtime.

Tryndamere used to receive hate because no matter how you fucked him over early game, he would farm himself to late game and win any 1v1. Hell, if you failed to kite him he could 3v1 with ease. But that was late game and late game only.

Yasuo is given the double crit chance and 50% armor pen. This means that he has a 100% granted mid game power spike similar to being fed while also having Tyndamere-esque late game potential, but with a much better team fighting potential due to high mobility, two sources of hard CC and what is possibly the best zoning tool against ranged champions in the entire game with his Windwall.

A good Windwall has the potential to turn a team fight on it's own. No other hyper carry has this potential to win a team fight through something other than damage.

This is why Yasuo is strong and this is why he's hated. He's an utility packed hyper carry.

Lack of cooldowns

Yasuo has a very URF-like feel to him. Rather than "I need to properly time / aim my skills and manage my secondary resource" it feels very much like "It doesn't matter if I waste or miss anything because it will be back up in two seconds."

Uses your minion wave against you

Minions can do a lot of damage early game. Being in your minion wave is supposed to deter enemy champions from attacking you, as they will then take aggro. Yasuo, however, uses your minions to dash around in every direction, not only making skillshots very difficult to land but also making it very easy for him to get in, poke and then get out.

Windwall negates an infinite number of projectiles.

Spellshields block a certain number of skills. Windwall blocks everything. For a rather extensive period of time.

Ult can be procced off of literally everything.

Knockups should be things like a Malphite or Wukong ult, no Thresh's flay or Darius' E pull. ** Because of his design as a whole, it is less about how good at your champion you are and more about how bad at Yasuo your opponent is.**

With all of the mobility, shields and damage, it honestly feels like you're hoping the Yasuo sucks rather than "I know my champion well enough to play against my opponent.

Because yasuo scales more with skill than a lot of other champs? Low skill floor high skill cap.

yeah okay silver 5.

u must think silver is high elo and bronze is low elo.

to answer the op is the oppressive laning phase. very oppressive. hes more oppressive in lane than darius. since he doesn't care if your ranged or not.

ItsOrval2 votes

Yasuo isnt even cancer. People just have a terrible thinking process. Yasuo is strong early game, but is somewhat weak mid game, and is useless late game. But if you feed him, of course hes going to be cancer. Just like if you fed anyone who has a strong early game like Nocturne, Fizz, Graves. Yasuo died in about 5 autos from the adc mid/late game if hes not fed. Hes not cancer at all.

Requiemsfire2 votes

It's because Yasuo has a fair number of damage tools to outright negate a ranged trade and with the sustain warlord's bloodlust in combination of his shield it becomes really hard to deal an effective amount of damage on a lot of champions to prevent him from staying in lane whilst having such a powerful power spike early from his first and second item if you can't stop him from being relevant enough.

Against melee champions he has poke installed into his kit which makes it easier to zone people from the wave with his tornado which deals a decent amount of damage as well as providing a match up. He can use your creep wave to initiate and and disengage unless you are ganked or fighting away from the creep wave.

To top it all off his ult shreds a huge portion of your armour on top of the damage it deals despite achieving 100% crit in two items so its difficult to counterbuild against him unless you somehow avoid all the tornados when he can E+Q into you.

Chimp Joker2 votes

Damn. I think you just opened a can of worms.

SiToasty2 votes

He's super overloaded.

Basically 2 abilities with cooldown.

spams level 7

Dashes through your minions to use your own wave against you (Btw i don't get how fighting when there's no minions is a counter since if you don't push he's going to freeze and make you lose lots of cs and if you then want to have more than 10cs at the 10 minute mark he does the yasuo dash dash stab stab).

Windwall to block really EVERYTHING that flies.

Shield for walking around that ONLY procs when hit so u don't even need to time it like any other shield.

Ult that recharges shield instantly.

50% armor pen

100% crit

Most annoying sounds in the game (you know what I mean)

He's super overplayed which makes everything above twice as annoying.

1.High dmg 2.Strong ultimate (even with Thresh e) 3.Mobility 4.No mana or energy...only very low cd 5.He's loud...

Woodakoodashooda1 votes

I think what makes Yasuo annoying is not his wind wall, his ultimate, his passive, or his knock up.

What makes him an annoying champion is the fact that he is able to utilize any visible target for a series of dashes. Why is this a problem? It is a problem because allied minion waves are supposed to deter enemies from going all in on you in the early game, but Yasuo is the exception to this established rule of thumb. You attack an enemy champion, you become the target of minion aggro, but Yasuo is built in a fashion that promotes making him a target to that aggro as he goes in on an enemy champion and pops back out just as quickly.

There is no hiding behind your minions to avoid Yasuo and trying to go after him when he does, you are faced with problems that Yasuo freely ignores.

Creep block and unit collision and brutal enemy minion aggro when you do try and retaliate.

Yasuo is something people habitually despise and that is a safe assassin.

Imagine you are a Brand.

Yasuo is pain to lane against to begin with. But so are some other champions, so you can live with that.

Now imagine that despite how strong he is, you win the lane. You go 4-0 on him. What did you gain?

Jack squat.

As long as he has Malphie/Zac/Alistar he still will become his teams main damage threat.

You, on the other hand, will never become your teams main damage threat, because windwall.

That's just not fair - if you beat someone who has such a strong laning phase, you deserve for them to be a non-factor later on.

This is why utility mages exist. So that even if you DO screw up the early game, you're still useful because of the utility your champ's kit provides. It's up to you whether you want to use them wisely or not.

yellowyt91 votes

brand's only projectile that can be blocked by yasuo is his aa.... same goes for many other champions like karthus

Zero Skill Tank1 votes

IDK what you are high on, but sear and pyroclasm are not only windwalled, with their projectile speed they are basically guaranteed to be so.

Chalizard1 votes

His kit is cancer, every single champion with infinity dashes is considered cancer in some way because it's just annoying to play against him aspecially when he can Block all of your spells. He has high skill ceiling but his skill floor is pretty low and there is much more skill required to play against him then to play with him. He is just designed to play with him, not against him I guess That's the reason.

Leo10241 votes

Because he's not by any means hard to play, his mains are toxic, and all they did when they nerfed him was cry about it but they've done nothing to his damage, if Yasuo mains were half as good as they say they were, they'd be able to play around the nerfs (seems kinda funny to me that Yasuo mains needed a bug to do well with him)

Lopunny7771 votes

WHY IS HE NOT NERFED YET!?

Yav1 votes

honestly if we keep analyzing every champion just like we are doing to yasuo they will all be cancer or at least half cancer.....so to me there is no cancer champ for the most least i would call them annoying champs TO ME.... they may not be to others an so on...

If you are a yasuo main and sometimes play top, you'll sometimes find yourself facing jax, dr Mundo, Darius. Those 3 champs are also ridiculously op and every time I see them I always get shit on. So although yasuo counters many champions, he also can get countered very easily with a tank+damage champ

I hate yasuo because for him to be useful you need to put a lot of time into him and whenever i see him in game either team he just gets camped and feeds.I love yasuo on the enemy team free win :)
