Top Lane not taken seriously anymore

Why is it in every single game I play top lane every opponent I play against chooses to play a damn range and not a real actual fighter champ? Do players have no pride to playing the game to what it supposed to be anymore? How about you all stop trolling and play like a real pro for a change and pick a viable champ for the right lane instead of half-assing it to use a cheap method to give you an overwhelming edeg against others who actually take the game seriously.

What I'm hearing is

I lost to cheese and I'm angry because of it.

There are plenty of ways to deal with ranged tops and shut them down. Just need to learn them.

Melee champions are weaker... there is no real point in playing melee outside of tanking for your team (if you wanna win).

The fact that ranged toplaners are cancer is very true. Your arguments on the other hand are garbage.

"instead of getting something that gives you an overwhelming advantage" (approximately what you said).

Now, use your brain for 2 milliseconds.

Pros will do everything to win. If there was a cheap way to win a lane, they'd abuse it everytime. Saying something is both having an overhelming advantage and not viable is stupid. PS : pros actually pick graves top in competitive play and he's having very good results.

If anything, the guys that play ranged champions are more tryharding than the people who play melee champions.

The weird thing about you is that you mix "playing the game like it is supposed to be traditionally, with good old tanky guys brawling" and "playing the game seriously and competitively".

There's something fundamentally wrong with your argument knowing that many traditional top laners have ranged attacks; you're implying that anybody that plays Gnar top is running a troll pick, in example.

As a melee champion you should be able to equalize that pressure with other tools in your kit. Ranged champs pay for the added safety of their ranged attacks with reductions to their base stats. It sounds to me like you aren't trading properly in those matchups.

If you "actually take the game seriously" you should either learn to adapt to the strategy or start using it yourself. As opposed to whining like a scrub.

Your suppose to play what ever champ you want. Riot empowers people to play what ever champions they love.
If you are serious about your position, you would study the different picks, (Including the off picks). If there's merit to their pick, then there's no problem taking that pick into the top lane. And if it's a cheese tactic, then you should be able to counter it.

While it's infuriating to play against ranged tops, you gotta look at the bright side. The enemy team picks a strong poking laner instead of a valuable tank line champion.
