I need a little help playing against darius

Ok so I recently had a match against a Darius and as usual I had a lot of trouble against him. Fully stacked anal hemorrhaging destroyed me pretty much every time i tried to trade with him. I rushed a frozen heart followed by a sunfire but he still managed to do an insane amount of damage even with 200 armour. I tried to stay close to him so that his Q did almost no damage but it still chunked my health. I'm really not sure what I should do and the only counter play I've seen so far is to just afk.

Don't stand and fight him. He wins longer fights. You also picked Ekko. You should've tried to only poke with q and not try to fight him. When you try to burst kill him like he's a squishy you'll get rekt

Darius excels in melee fights. If you use your E on him aggressively (as ekko), then that means you have no escape from his full combo. You're also squishy early on so you just want to try to farm as safely as you can and poke him with your Q and only use your E if he misses either of his skills. Apart from that, only use it for dodging or escaping if he pulls you.

You need to watch for blown cooldowns. The minute you see him miss his Q, you immeadiately use E, auto, and hit him with Q for the third proc of passive, and then BACK OFF. You have traded successfully with Darius. Keep in mind that you will most likely NEVER be able to actually outright kill Darius on your own without being fed. If you're on equal footing, he will dominate you in the 1v1 every time. Wait for jungle ganks, and do NOT give him kills. That's how you win

i played vs a Darius as Maokai i ran summoner 3 summoner 4 and played passively in lane and farmed and didnt go for engages and trades 1 vs 1 knowing that his passive and his damage will beat me early. i waited for farms and other then small lil trades or disengaging i never full on fought him with out jungler , did wonders in ganks cuz combined with my cc and summoner 3 he couldnt get away nor do enough damage while exhausted. end game i ended up 5-3-23 as Maokai where Darius went 3-10-8 and due to him not snowballing early we easily were able to kite and cc him to death and win the game

With ekko q, if he gets hit by both and is close, as him then run away. If he manages to pull you use your dash to get out again

Dont rush pure armor items against darius. Youll set yourself up to be screwed when you both reach level six. Mixed items like sunfire or randuins provide more benefit.

Remember that for every point of armor you buy he passively ignores a percentage of it, this is low in early levels but scales up to free 25% pen for every 1 armor you get. His ult of course is true damage.
