Alas, poor Yorick...

So at the beginning of this season, I tried running Yorick in a few normal matches. Did somewhat decently. After watching the LCS match he was played in, I decided to give him another shot.

Remembering back to when he was first released. I thought thematically, he was perfect and his skills were...different to say the least. I did grow to enjoy playing him even if any bar he walked in to lacked a sturdy counter. I think he's a cool champion, but I believe he could definitely be executed better in terms of his skillset.

Anyway, to the point of the topic, I'm crurious on people's opinions of his ultimate. I was doing some research, looking through old dated information on LolWiki and I found some old Yorick rework information. Basically a bunch of different versions of a proposed rework involving drastically changing his ultimate from a revenant/revive of an allied champion to summon a number of ghouls to Yorick's side. These ghouls are basically used as "ammunition" for lack of a better word for the rest of his skills. If you're curious, you can view it here, http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/User_blog:Emptylord/Xelnath%27s_Yorick_discussion Please remember though, this was a proposed concept and is from 2013. Its fairly dated.

My question to the players is how do you feel about Yorick just being a pure necromancer and using ghouls only for his skills? This removes his ultimate as it is currently on live. Personally I think his ultimate is pretty neat, bringing back your ally from the dead to exact revenge for a short period of time. But I can also see why it would be problematic. It basically makes Yorick reliant on his teammates to have a good carry that he can ult in order to make good use of his ultimate if he isn't building high damage.

Do you think his ultimate is what defines him? Or is it his ghouls? I'm honestly torn on whether it should stay. A full blown necromancer would be cool, but again his current ultimate is pretty cool and can be useful.

My follow up is to Riot, if anybody is available to comment on it as to what direction they are taking if anything is somewhat concrete right now. Will he be losing his revive ultimate for more ghoul power? Or will it stay?

I never liked Yoricks Ult. Double lose of item 3041 and item 3141 stacks.

What defines Yorick to me is an insanely oppressive, spamming lane bully that falls off hard late game.

... Yeeaaaah. I don't really know what I'd do with him. I like the novelty of his kit, but as past buffs/nerfs have shown, it's hard to balance with it in its current state.
