For people who are elo hell

A lot of people say Bronze is elo hell, and I personally think so too. I was placed in Silver 5 when I first started playing ranked this season. I didn't play ranked all that much after being placed in S5, I played normals most of the time. When I decided to play ranked, I dropped to Bronze 1. At the time I wasn't all that good at League, but I gradually improved. However, in an attempt to climb back to Silver 5, I continuously dropped divisions, and I am now in Bronze 4.

The past two days, I have lost 7 ranked games in a row. I could have played some games better than I did, but it wasn't always my fault I lost a game. I main adc but I can play the other lanes also. One of the games I played support because the person before me wanted to adc, and I didn't want to argue. That person ended up feeding the enemy adc and then rage quit. Turns out their kda out of 11 games of Vayne was 5/11/2. This happens consistently, people play roles they don't do well in.

I know that there are truly people who are good at the game, but struggle to get out of Bronze, when they should be in a different tier. These are some of the reasons I thought of.

  • Someone calls a lane they can't play very well.
  • When you advise your team on what to do or what to build because they aren't doing so well, and they ignore you.
  • People give up too easily.
  • Nobody bothers to get objectives, instead they focus on getting kills and die in the process.
  • Nobody communicates with each other.

I play with lower level friends from time to time (some low silver, some high bronze). Some bronze level players really do lack basic mechanics and game knowledge. But most the players I see down there are relatively competent on their champions. The biggest difference between bronze and plat, in my experience at least, is that bronze/silver players aren't trying to kill the enemy nexus, they are trying to kill enemy champions. But you don't win games by killing enemy champions.

The good news is that anyone can be a leader. I seriously think the most effective way to carry yourself out of bronze is to (respectfully--don't be an asshole) try to nudge your teammates towards objectives. If your team wins a fight, and you see your allies starting to back, just ping an objective and try to get people to follow you there. And if you see that the enemy team is derping around the mid lane looking for kills (which I see a LOT), tell your team to play safe and not to engage, and split push a lane.

Even if you end up on a team with a seriously incompetent player, you can absolutely carry the game--not necessarily by racking up dozens of kills, but by using chat and pings to push your team towards actual objectives while the enemies are trolling around in packs of 2 or 3 looking for picks.

That's the hell that is bronze/silver. I think it's better to have a duo partner for it. Because you know at least two people won't play foolishly like the rest and you might get lucky with a third.

I tend to duo queue but my partner doesn't always do well. Most of the time yes, but sometimes not.

Happened to me too. I was placed in silver v stopped playing for awhile dropped to bronze 1 lost my promos and went downhill. I'm tired of all the support Diana's, ragers, and afks.

You could play a champion that nobody knows how to play against that is a uncommon pick in the current meta it will usually work with 9/10 people not knowing how the hell to play against you.

Its not just bronze... it is the same all the way into low plat. Anyone who is decent can climb to plat... its a matter of how long it takes. That's the issue. Unless you are a great diamond player who can solo carry games the entire solo queue ranking system is crap. The elo and MMR system doesn't work when it is negatively affected simply by win / loss in a 5v5 VERY TEAM ORIENTED game. It just doesn't. It works fine in pre-made 5v5. But not in solo queue. And if you disagree you're just a cunty tool who likes arguing for the sake of arguing. I can honestly say that if it wasn't for players that have no place in ranked games. I would currently sit at probably an 85 to 90% win rate. No one bothers to research how to play before they play, they just jump in and think they'll be great. They wont. No one wards correctly. People get baited and chase endlessly. People go for baron when you need to push turrets, then end up throwing games. Maybe 1 out of 30 games I play are all 5 members, of both teams all even half decent. There is nearly always a shit on one of the two teams, and way to often more than one. Any ranked system that required you to carry some human garbage waste of space is not a accurate competitive system.

You can climb if you are good, yeah.. But dont fucking say elo hell doesnt exist. It does. When you HAVE TOO hard carry most games... that's not a ranked system worth shit. One worth shit would be one that matchs 5 likeminded, similarly skilled players, against 5 players of the same skill level. That's a ranked system worth shit. Leagues solo queue does not do that. Idc if you are a G1 or P5, I will match or beat you not only in lane but through out the mid in late game. The match making system is the worst I have ever seen in my gaming life.

Ah another Elo hell thread. Maybe someday, the ladder to Elo Heaven will be found.

There is no ladder. There is a field filled with land mines (which are shitty players) and you just walk though it praying to God you don't step on one during a promo and get blown back 4 meters (aka 4 games) for no reason.

Something else; as a silver player I feel like one of the things I see a lot that ends up being a contributing factor to losses is that people often seem to get this mindset that losing lane, dying to a gank, getting first blooded, etc. means the game is "impossible to win" and that player will just maintain a negative attitude towards the rest of the match and end up being more of a burden to their team, if they even choose to stay.

Btw. I have gone up 7 leagues in just a few weeks. If I had not gotten players... who I honest don't know. I don't get why you even log in when you are as bad as so many people are. They can't ever win. It cant be fun to lose constantly. Anyway.... Yeah if it wasn't for so many games like that. I would be without a doubt in my mind 5 leagues higher than I am currently. Probably more than that. My point is, the MMR system does not work in solo queue. It is built for pre-mades. Simple fact. The only way to carry yourself (quickly) if is you are just plain amazing. If you have a good understanding of the game, and don't make stupid mistakes.. you will advance... the problem lies where how unreasonably long it takes due to people like this single handled handing the enemy team a win. There's no doubt in my mind there are players in B5 who can shit on players in low plat. I was there, its a nightmare. The matchmaking system they have in place for solo queues does not work. Its a fact. If you don't believe that then you are just an ignorant cunt, who again want to argue for the sake of arguing.

My friend and I play on his smurf a lot. His main account is P1. His smurf is S1... he has been kicked out of 7... SEVEN... Promo's. Simply because... well multiple reasons... complete feeds.... rage trolls... dc's... so on. The general gripes. But that fact alone... thats fucking ridiculous. If your MMR is THAT FUCKING GOD DAMN HIGH above your league. It SHOULD SKIP THE FUCKING PROMO. You cant control these wastes of life that log into this game to do this to people. You cant, and no one should be punished for it.
