Jayce discussion.

Jayce is a very strong top/mid lane fighter that has been seeing a rise in gameplay ever since worlds. And ever since then there have been countless people complaining that Jayce is "broken" and "extremely op". Now let me say this now, I play Jayce alot and hes one of my favorite champs to play but I do agree that he needs some tweaks on his kit. I believe that a way to tweak Jayce or "nerf" him would be to lower his lane bullying and make him more of a late game fighter rather than being strong at all phases. A way they could do this is lower the AD scaling on some of his abilities in the early game and compensate it by making his late game a bit stronger. His Q has a bonus AD ratio of 1.2, so thats quite a bit but it is further increased to 1.68 after using his Acceleration Gate. So yeah his Q does tons of damage, and in a way it makes up for not having an ultimate and the total mana cost is 105 (Q+E) at rank 1. Something they could do with it is lower the AD scaling of it, and make it his total AD rather than bonus. Lets say .5 of his total AD, so if he has 78 AD his Q would have an extra 39 points of damage. Compare it to live where if Jayce has 78 AD, 38 of it is bonus, his Q get a total amount of 45.6 extra damage. Thats a 6 point difference, its not very big but its just an idea on what they could do. What are some of your suggestions?

jayce actually has a decent early game nerf in the recent pbe update. the cooldown on his W doesn't start until he's used all 3 shots. this hurts his early game tear stacking and it lets him use W less frequently in lane to harass and all in with.

Its something, but In all honesty I dont believe it will do much because W is the second thing Jayces max out. Its not his form of dealing damage in the lane phase especially since rank 3 and below have an AD scaling of 1.00, .85, and .70.

i dunt see why riot still thinks Jayce's pain ball is okay after nerfing nidalee's spears ;l

Jack up his mana costs.

Problem solved.

That would hurt his lane phase, but most Jayces rush Tear of the goddess so IMO that wouldnt truly solve the issue. Not to mention Essence reaver exists.

If you want him to be nerfed to the ground, say so. This would cut his late game Q damage in half, if not more.

I dont want him to be nerfed to the ground. As I said above, Jayce is one of my favorite champions. The changes were just a suggestion or a thought of what ehy could do, to go into more detail they could make it similar to Lucians Piercing light in the sense that the higher rank it is the better the AD scaling on it could be. It could start at .5 then .65, .8, .95, 1.10 of his total AD. Theyre just ideas, do you have anything to suggest?

Jayce has a great laning phase and is terrible at team fights. I dont see any problem with him except for terrible players on LoL forums whining about any champ they dont main.

Many people tend to do that. You cant really complain or say anything about a champion unless youve played as them yourself. And I wouldnt say hes terrible at teamfights, its just that if he goes in one he'll most likely get CC'ed to death. Not to mention he offers a decent amount of splash damage in a teamfight.

I don't think he's overpowered nor do I think he is "weak" at team fights. A lot of these pro's play Jayce and a player for example like Bjergsen doesnt play "bad" champs only champs he feels are strong, have great potential to carry, and get kills when he decides to be aggressive. Jayce is strong, maybe not Overpowered but is definitely strong with a weakness that is seemingly ambiguous as the game progresses.

Lowering his "Q" at the early game levels, but buffing it's mid to late game would perfectly put his power and danger threat where it needs to be. The Q damage definitely hurts a lot early game, and once you have a tear well it's not like you'll be struggling to pump those out and bank on your mid game power spike. Again stopping a Jayce early game isn't impossible it's just he isn't as weak as he probably should be early game.

I agree. Many players dont understand how to fight a Jayce and so complain about him being broken. Seeing as how His Q is his main nuke and poke, lowering the damage of it would help in weakening his lane phase/early game.
