Hi everyone, i want u to awnser me one question, what is a suppress. because today i was playing Brand agaisnt a Malzahar and a Warwick so i thought that would be a great idea to take cleanse so i could be able to stay alive while one of them would ult me.. but i just realised summoner 1 dosn't work on those. so i though reading the description on it would help, but no . I mean, in my mind a suppress is clearly a disable so why would cleanse dosn't work on it ? i dont know so pls do something there 2 thing u can do 1- Change cleanse 2-Change suppresed

i'l throw u the description of cleanse Cleanse - Remove all disable and summoner's spell debuff affleting your champion and lower the duration of incoming spell by 65% for 3 second.

Sorry for my bad rigthing i'm french so my English migth be bad and also it take me a lot of efforts :)

If Cleanse was able to cancel Suppression, you would hard counter Champions that heavily depend on them for their playstyle.

WW and Mal need it to lockdown a target to kill, and in return, they are unable to move and cast abilities during the Suppresion, leaving them vulnerable.

Ok so first, some definitions:

A suppression prevents the use of any summoner spells, and since cleanse is a summoner spell, it cannot be used during a suppression. The game is correct in saying that Cleanse removes disables; it does, just you cannot use it while suppressed.

The reason for this is so that you cannot counter the entire purpose of a champion with a summoner spell. Now you might say that Quicksilver Sash counters these champions, but that is more ok, since you need to sacrifice an item slot for this. Also, Riot said that they were looking into making QSS not as destructive for those champions that it counters.

Once again, Cleanse doesn't remove suppressions so that a champion isn't entirely countered by a single summoner spell.

This should REALLY help you understand how Suppresion works.

Unable to activate an ability, item, or summoner spells. Yet item 3140 and Gangplank's W are able to remove it during suppression. So what gives. Either make item 3140 and Gangplank's W not work under suppression like how its suppose to or allow cleanse to also remove it. Can't allow anything like it should or change the definition of being suppressed and allow Cleanse to remove it.

Alistar and Olaf too due to HOW their abilites work... IE: Remove ALL forms of CC. Hence why QSS is allowed to do that as well. If the summoner spell summoner 1 had that much power it would praticaly negate these champions existance: Warwick Skarner Malzahar since these three essentially RELY on the suppresions of their ults. Urgot and TahmKench could be debatle as well.

Heck QSS is STILL a stupidly strong item against them! Oh these 3 (Malzahar Warwick Skarner) ulted? QSS run away.

The thing is I only use the two items as examples and not listing the whole skills/items since it woud take too long. There is another thing to mention is that Champion abilites can be lowered to around 30-40 seconds with max cdr normally for ultimates. summoner 1 with maximum cooldown will around 160 seconds with the max of 25% cdr for summoner spells (aside from distortion upgrade). They will have 3-4 chances of being able to apply their ultimates on the Champion who has cleanse and it won't always be saved for their ultimates specifically, just like how summoner 4 isn't always used for escaping. If you were to force them to use their summoner 1 such as a Nami stun, then they would be open for several ults until its available again.

So I'll just repeat what I said. Either have acceptance and redefine what Suppression is or have no acceptance at all for skill, summoner, or item usage during suppression.

Of course there is the option of item 3222 to save the champion being suppressed.

item 3222 doen't NOT work on supprestions. I just want to point that out.

I did not know that, thanks :o Scratch that then.

The only types of CC it doesn't work on: Suppresions, Blind, and Airborne. Which is still a very small amount of CC considering the many varying types of CC in the game. So it still has its uses which is very nice.

If Quicksilver Sash is allowed to do it I see no reason Cleanse cannot too.

That said if this were to happen Malz should get a change where his ult will still do damage and follow the target until they get out of range.

Void Nargacuga1 votes

It already does though... Nether Grasp (along with Warwicks Infinte Duress) have a leash range where it still deals damage.

I believe Quicksilver stops the damage from Nether Grasp, unlike Warwick and his ult. Could be wrong though, I'm just working from memory.

QSS only stops the Crowd Control, though with Malzahar's Malefic Visions it DOES get rid of it.

Straight from Malzahar's Wikia page

Malefic Visions

Additional information:

  • Malefic Visions cannot be removed with summoner 1 , however it WILL be removed byitem 3140.

Oh cool. Guess I see no reason why Cleanse and QSS can't both do the same thing then.

If you want to know more about the specifics for each click on either of their boards icons.

summoner 1 & item 3140

FYI I have turned their respective icons into League of Legends WIkia links. Go ahead and check them our for more info on how they work.
