First pick...

Can something be done about this? I've been first pick in the last 4 games I've played. I always get countered, I always lose lane, and it's never fun. I'm sick of being countered and zoned out of lane constantly because I'm first pick. Why isn't there a feature like autofill for first pick where if you get first pick in one game, you won't get it in the next???

you can always ask your team mates if they want a champ first picked

OTPs and people playing op meta champs often don't mind having the first picks

First pick is both a blessing and a curse. You get the champ you want provided it isn't banned, but at the cost of possibly being countered. I recommend picking a champ you know with few counters or a champ whose counters you know how to play around if you are first pick in whatever role it is you play.

Some champs doesn't matter if you get couhter picked like Kayle or Morde. Morde is insanely strong and his ult almost always gives you the advantage you need to win and Kayle is countered by everyone early game.

What champ are you playing out of curiousity and also what lane?

In this meta there is a lot of versatility, so I'd recommend picking up something that maybe doesn't seem like it's suppose to be there like for example if you are Top you could pick a ADC or Mage provided you know how to play them, things like neeko, karthus, cass; something that maybe seems like it isn't actually going in that lane.

The other option is play something extremely safe which is generally speaking some of the non-fun champs like if you are in Top you Scion 1st or a Tank of some sort, i always reverted to Singed when I was 1st pick top; something that you have confidence in even when / if you fall behind you can still be impactful in team fights or something so you just lose lane with grace as to not feed too much.

If it's Mid I always just played Malzahar, yeah not a super skill based champ but he still has just a few really bad matchups and even if you lose lane you can still contribute.

If you are a OTP then I hate to say but you are gonna just have to really pay attention to bad matchups and really exploit windows whenever they arise; like Riven 1 tricks have sooo much information of how to trade with some of these matchups it's really crazy listening to some of them explain.

If things are super risky then generally speaking they shouldn't be picked 1st. Quinn top for example, although Quinn can smash many top laners for sure, she does have some really terrible matchups and because Quinn is already kinda risky in general (she is snowball or lose) then picking her 1st is just making her condition of success even tougher.

yeah when I play mid, I usually first pick Vlad or malzahar.......both are pretty safe picks...just pick a champ that is versitle and even if countered doesn't completely suck, pref scaling, so that if they counter you it's for the early game....so top, jax is a good pick.....yeah they can crap on you early, maybe get your tower first, but jax can shit on Quinn or teemo in mid-late game
