How do i keep a laneing phase lead?!

Background Information: I started LoL a couple months ago, and really got into it. I am an ADC main, and just got level 30. I haven't gotten into ranked, as i am waiting to get my tier 3 runes.

Generally, when i get a lead in the lane phase, i can't seem to hold on to it. Example: I go 5/1 as jinx, and when the teamfights start rolling around, my 5/1 kda goes to a 6/5 kda. How can I hold my lead past the laning phase, and into mid -> late game?

Tl;Dr: Noob adc main can't hold on to an early lead.

Follow your support or someone who will protect you. Make sure to notice your positioning. Move while attacking.

It depends a lot on your team comp and the players in the game. If I am a support that isnt the engage I always try to save one form of CC to try and help peel for my adc. For instance, if I am nami and I initiate with the ult, if my team can follow up then ill save the Q, if they cant then Ill throw the Q but only if I have exhaust up. If your team isnt even attempting to peel for you then I would suggest that you stay in the backline and the edge of your AA range and focus whoever is close enough for you to hit while staying behind your team. If that means you have to focus the leona who charged straight through your team to get you then so be it. Do what you can but do not die, people need to realize that while deaths do happen you have got to avoid giving the enemy team any more gold than necessary.
