The Life of a Bard is Hard

I'm been maining Bard lately and have had some great games where I felt entirely useful, but in between those games there's at least 2 or 3 games where the other team has 2 or 3 carries (so top, mid, adc) who all get snowballed and I become nothing but a useless health dispenser.

I can ult their entire team but get bursted down so quickly it means nothing. Maybe this is a rant on League being too damage-focused, but it just doesn't feel balanced when the other team has so much damage that literally the only thing you can do is sit back and hope to save an ally or two.

After it reaches a certain point there is zero play-making potential left, unless the enemy team makes some really stupid mistake. It doesn't help that the supports I tend to get matched up against are either the annoying one-trick ponies like Blitz or the equally annoying poke ones who offer no ulility but are basically there to grief you and the adc while you actually try to offer ahem support.

TL;DR Trying to play utility support is like trying to play professional baseball without steroids. Maybe someone will commend you for it but most will laugh because you can't hit homeruns all day.

P.S. Yes this was in Normals because I don't play ranked and I know that playing draft would help getting a better matchup.

That's why I main tanks, so people learn than straight up force will not solve all of your problems.

I don't see how this is specific to Bard. It's the hypersnowballiness of this preseason, everyone has some games ruined by it and can't do anything after a certain point.

Bard hurts no matter what if you don't get annihilated early on. Building an item 3025 against an AD team (if you're winning, if not build a item 3110 ) helps your burst AND utility. Against AP, go item 3060 and/or item 3190 so you can both be moderately tanky, full of utility and still do significant damage.

Source? 40k on Bard, support, hybrid jungle and AD top

My usual bard build is like item 3092 item 3222 item 1326 item 3060 item 3512 item 3050
