If i de-rank to Bronze 1 from Silver 5 do i lose my opportunity for a silver border?

Hi i am currently Silver 5 and I have a question i have not been able to find a definitive answer for. If i de-rank to Bronze 1 and never achieve getting back to Silver does that mean i will not get a Silver border at the end of the season? Or does achieving Silver in general count as a default for that reward?

you need to be silver when the season ends to get the border
