Taking Top lane to the next level

I have mained top lane and support for the majority of my time on league of legends. previously I asked what a support main should do with bad adc and got an amazing amount of responses from that post. So with season 10 on the horizon I am looking to take my top lane to the next level. right now I am sitting at Silver and I am looking to climb to gold and maybe even plat next season. so I want to know the following and other things you guys can come up with that I may have never even thought of.

-Double Rift Herlads in S10. I want a know champions that can not only split push and lane well but can also take help take the rift herlad quickly in the early game. NOTE: I do not play as ranged bully champions like Jayce and Teemo because (according to challenger player: King Cracker Neace) bully champions will set some bad habits in a top lane player. you should instead learn how to play objectives as opposed to constantly bully enemy laners.

-Support the Mid laner. So lets say I have a big lead over my opponent. when and how should I extend that lead to the mid laners and help them get further ahead by, helping with mid tower and gank mid lane to feed my ally. I have done things to help the mid laner get ahead but I almost always end up throwing my lane by accidently giving my enemy laner a free tower (how do I stop doing this)

-I took tower. now what?

-Anything else I should know? please tell me, I know someone will be able to tell me something that I never thought of doing.

Don't focus on mid unless you can take plates or tower - just focus on being at dragon when you can and protecting your jungler instead. If you've taken TP try and set up an eventual TP to bot or dragon; otherwise focus on dominating toplane. Ganking mid won't work out or be worth it 99% of the time until laning phase is over.

1- Herald is pretty easy to take, I solo it with Shen (empowered AA's do help) so anything that has some dmg would do the trick (Renekton would be a good example). 2- You need to consider several things before roaming but the first thing to learn would be wave manipulation. Learn how minion waves behave and then you'll know when it's safe to recall, roam, etc. Also, if the enemy mid is hugging his turret, don't bother unless you're sure you can dive and escape (trading kills is not a good thing). You also don't need to absolutely get a kill, if you can make him burn his flash, it could be enough (it will help in case the jungler wants to gank later on). Don't forget to "roam" to help your jungler when he comes for the crab for example (and always keep an eye on him if he's stealing enemy's camps). 3- Again, learn how waves behave and you'll know how much time you have to roam until the wave crashes under your turret. Depending on the scenario, you could swap with another lane that is struggling, invade enemy's jungle, gank a lane. Example: you just got the turret but you know the enemy is coming back, check out your jungle, if the jungler is on the other side of the map, take the camps available near you (even better if you can take enemy's camps). Then come back to get the gold/exp from the minions. But you could use this time to anything (it really depends on what objectives are up, if you have tp, if the enemy does, etc.). 4- I personally learned a lot by watching RTO's videos. There must be tons of videos on youtube to help you with how to play toplane.

Good luck
