@Riot: Buff Timers
> When a camp that has a timer (Red, Blue, Dragon, Baron, Rift Herald) has less than 60 seconds to spawn, its timer is revealed to both teams (regardless of their vision of the camp), and an “about to spawn” icon appears in the minimap (will replace regular camp icon if you still haven’t seen the cleared camp) These icons start "dull" at 60 seconds and then become bright at 20 seconds.
I understand,you buffed buffs and want them to be contested objectives and I agree that buffs should be contested and considered objectives but I don't think you should make everyone able to see when the buff will spawn since at the cost of making fights happen around the objective you'll hurt good junglers a huge amount.
I'm not a god tier jungler or anything,I'm only near plat 5 but one thing I think I am right about is that jungle should be a role that rewards higher game knowledge rather than mechanics.
Let's say right now someone goes in to a game as the jungler and the enemy jungler happens to be worse than him. The good jungler will be able to know when the enemy's buffs are up without ever even getting vision on them,they can check how much time is left on the enemy jungler's buff when they gank to know when it was taken,if they see the mid laner leave lane for a bit it's likely that they're going to get blue buff so you can use that opportunity to steal it,you can pay attention to which laners arive to lane late and thus you'll know they were leashing the enemy jungler and you'll know when his first buff will spawn and where he started and where he's likely to be in 5min and so on The good jungler will be rewarded with the enemy's jungle camps,denying them experience and wasting their time and thus he gains more pressure over the map while the enemy jungler will have no knowledge at all about when the enemy's buffs are up or anything
Now let's fast forward to 6.9 hitting live The good and the bad jungler will be 100% equal when it comes to counter jungling,both of them will know when the enemy's buffs are up regardless of how much knowledge they have or how much effort they put in to it. No matter how I look at it,it's illogical. The good junglers will lose pressure because it'll be the logical thing to assume you'll get invaded when there's a big white hourglass on the map while the bad junglers will just see the icon and get rewarded for doing basically nothing.
Basically my point is while the timers will force more fights and make buffs more important,it'll also reduce the amount of game knowledge needed for jungling severely and just reward good junglers less but help worse junglers too much,the things that bad junglers should focus on until they learn the role better is just ganking and taking dragons when it's possible while good ones need to learn to predict all-ins from the enemy laners,enemy ganks and the whole point of this post,their jungle buff timers
I think a good inbetween for this would at least be to only show the hourglass timers if you saw the camp die or if you have vision on the camp that should have the timer since at least you'll have to assume the enemy buff will be up soon that way and ward it to confirm
