Response to the Syndra Changes
Now before I say anything, I do realize Syndra is a high skill cap champion and should not have a high win rate. However, having one of the lowest win rates and being weak continually since the nerfs in S4 has been quite frustrating since I enjoy the champion a lot. I realize she was really strong before the nerfs and needed some time to be on the weaker side to let other mid laners shine. With this in mind I was looking forward to the mage update thinking they might rework her a bit to help her out in becoming a decent mid laner again. Then I saw the changes made and it seemed lazily done. In fact, the changes aimed toward making her passive seem more relevant did the exact opposite. Maxing Q used to actually be exciting since you could easily feel the huge damage spike and could play around it. Now when you max Q its just some mediocre at best effect that might be relevant once or twice a game. The W change is also very situational and while it is cool I rarely make use of it when compared to the large slow increase before. The changes to Q even lowered syndra's identity more compared to other mages now that she doesn't really receive a large powerspike mid-game when Q is maxed. I love the champion but I really don't see why I would pick her if I was trying to win when i can pick champions such as Ahri that can do worlds more than Syndra with less effort and more reliability while only giving up slightly less overall damage. I would honestly be happy if the current changes were just reverted as Syndra had a stronger identity before the changes. As far as solutions its hard to know how to help without breaking the champ but maybe a 20-30% or so CD reduction on her ult on kill or assist when the ult is maxed would help her keep dishing our midrange dps in late game teamfights where she positions well to survive in. Anybody else know any potential solutions to help Syndra without breaking her?
