ARAM & Free Champ Rotation - Stop it!

Lately, I've been noticing a ridiculous number of ARAM games with the same champions in them. It's the free champs. Every game. They are in every game! Is this some sort of favoritism toward free champions? Because honestly, six games in a row playing against Fiddlesticks is enough to drive a man to madness.

Please change the "random" selection of champions in the ARAM queue back to being, for all intents and purposes, random.

The reason you see them so often is every single player has a chance to get them, that's 10 chances for the free champion, while there might only be 1 chance for a galio or aatrox.

You have 3 people with different types of shirts in drawers. Person 1 has a blue shirt, a pink shirt, and an orange shirt. person 2 has a green shirt, a white shirt, a purple shirt, and a black shirt. person 3 has a yellow shirt, and a grey shirt.

Now I put a red shirt into all 3 of their drawers. If I asked each person to pick a shirt at random without looking in the drawer, red has a higher chance to be pulled than any other color. Person 3 will have a higher chance of pulling the red shirt than person 2, but the chance of pulling it is still there for everyone.

Just increase the number of shirts and change it to champions, and make it 10 people instead of 3.

Perfectly aware of the increased odds of them getting chosen. My point was that it has seemed to increase to the point where there is no champion variety in ARAM any more.

I think ARAM champ select should be an equal RNG rating for all champs anyone in the game owns, not a preference being given to free rotation.

There is no reason to think ARAM isn't truly random unless you have to numbers to back it up, and six games ain't gonna cut it.

But it would be nice if we could get rid of the free champions in ARAM, Riot, I'm looking at you, I know you read the boards.

I could use Match History, but wouldn't this require knowing past free champ rotations? I don't even know if, or why, that information would be available.

The champions that are better in ARAM (sona, soraka, lux, katarina, etc) are going to have a higher percentage than those that suck or are just unpopular (urdy, aatrox, morde, skarner) because of ARAM only accounts and rerolls, but it is actually a fairly even distribution otherwise. Factor in that most everyone has ashe, tristana, amumu, etc, and it does look like champions picked are actually random.

What would be nice to see and I've seen it said multiple times is to just unlock all champions for everyone in ARAM. That would squash aram only accounts, and make the game mode truly random. Unfortunately though I don't think riot would ever do that for a number of reasons.

Just remove free champs from ARAM completely.

Just let us be able to get the rewards if we have to use the free champs... why not? I hate to play an ARAM game and feel like i am being cheated out of a reward just because i don't own the champion

Of course ARAM isn't random and is weighted towards the free champs. Riot has proven time and again that they are NOT about fair or level play - they are about the money. They're a business after all. If it was TRULY random and you owned 24 champs + 12 free ones you didn't own, you would get a champ you owned 2 out of 3 times - never happens (I average 7 games a day 365 days a year and I tracked it for 3+ years - champs I didn't own vs champs I owned WAY out of balance, even for a sample that only consisted of 8,000 or so games (which is actually a decent sample size)). Almost 2 out of 3 games a champ I DIDN'T own, and often the combination of owned and free champs gave me 3 to 1 (or better) odds of getting one I owned.
No, Riot WANTS you getting a free champ. Because if you have to play a champ you don't own, maybe you like the champ. If you like the champ, maybe you buy it (even if a "free" buy, not RP). And if you buy a champ, what are you likely to do? Buy a skin. And THERE'S the money maker... The new increased ARAM champ pool may indeed be targeting ARAM only accounts - but not because Riot gives a damn about fair or level play - just to once again force a new champ on you...
