I'm curious what everyone's take is now on the new Akali now that shes been out for awhile.
Personally I've played bit of both, and i miss a lot of the old play style. Mostly because the new play style doesn't mesh all that well with me. But her new shroud is amazing. Other than that, id rather have the old Akali. Your thoughts?
I liked old akali waaaay more than the new one. Her design was basic, but still very good. Her gameplay surrounded a certain concept, fun. The new one, yes the new shroud is amazing, but the rest is very... odd. Instead of an assassin who instantly pursues and kills their targets, she is now more of a hit and run champion. The energy bar (which they used for zed) was interesting, but by the fact it depletes so fast with your q and e, and by the fact you HAVE to use your w to get a lot faster is just odd. Her ult is another hit and run tactic also, you dash in, you dash out, simple.
Also for a subnote doesn't anyone else thing old akali looked like someone from Mortal Kombat? I think so and that is one of the many reasons why I liked her old design more.
Well the old Akali was cancerous af. Extremely toxic and binary design. At least this one has to do a small amount of thinking to perform well.
Make turrets target her through W, even if it doesn't fully reveal her, and she'd be perfect IMO
Her new voice is absolute ass

When played by someone who actually is playing her, she's godly. Almost impossible to land CC on yet can trash any target when skilled in sequence. Her E's range is just making duelists killing her almost impossible, or close range mages. Her kit's "potential" output is enough to kill 2 people in one skill sequence.
Most just haven't seen enough of it yet. She WILL get nerfed once people get comfortable with her.
Your only hope of killing her? Killing her when she has no Energy. Which..... is very easy vs a crap Akali player. But almost impossible vs a good one.
I miss old akali as a counter pick. For all the wrong reasons lol.
She absolutly trashed certain matchups mid and had way better wave clear before than she does now. I see a man in R range and he aint going no where lol. A lot more healing and less energy problems.
Simple abilities but she wasnt as binary as most people would think
