Aatrox has a problem.

Aatrox, for the past few months, following his rework has had the reddit flooded with people hating on jag, and complaining that the rework resembles nothing to the old Aatrox this is true.

However, new Aatrox is just as unique as old so we cannot just revert as they both have kits that are not similar to any other champ in league, that is why I propose giving the reworked Aatrox a warhammer or something that is slow and heavy, but equally gives a powerful feeling. Then revive old Aatrox in a new champ that was artistic such as his old form with a few QoL changes that fit to his old lore where he would inspire soldiers and shift the tide of battle.

They got rid of old Aatrox because they didn't want him in the game. He was a statcheck fighter that only saw play when the stars aligned to make him numerically superior to the other fighters. When he was good he was broken and when he wasn't he was a joke that you got laughed at for picking. There's zero reason to bring him back.

You can't have old Aatrox back... because we already have and always, since his release, have had a champion with all the same strengths but better, without the need for a nonfunctioning revival gimmick.

If you're going to put some of Aatrox's old kit pieces on a champion, use them for a Tryndamere rework.

I mean, Tryndamere was the original "barbaric hack and slash dude that didn't die" and is in need of an update anyway.

Also, for what it's worth, Aatrox's new kit fits his flavor a lot better. A powerful, imposing figure who wreaks havoc on the battlefield, leading his 'allies' to victory on the front lines. (Aatrox's old VO tried to convey an artful duelist like Fiora, but he really... wasn't. Instead just opting to hack and slash the closest living thing until it died.)

They are hating on Jag (I did at one point, regretting such when I learned the truth) because he was the one who REWORKED him, not the one who BALANCED him. The balance team took a rework that could have worked and balanced it like garbage, leading back to the central issue of Aatrox pre-rework: A balancing nightmare. Aatrox will begin feel better to play if they do the most simplest thing and change his healing to pre mitigation damage instead of post. https://www.reddit.com/r/AatroxMains/comments/9iz90i/i_like_new_aatrox_but_some_things_need_to_change/ This post hits the mark on what could be done.
