Is it possible to get some kind of gameplay compensation for lag?

I'm not a game designer, and I don't know how to balance games, but no amount of technical competitive statistics can do anything when technical issues that interrupt anything that makes those statistics matter are at play. (Yes, I'm posting this because I just lost a promotional game as Kindred because my ping was permanently at 600 and am mildly bitter because my previous game 20 minutes right before it was perfect. Also I got death threats from my team and had to file 2 long reports, blah blah blah superfluous)

Since lag is pretty much going to be a prevalent issue in LoL that we all know is never going away, I feel there has to be at least some mild way to compensate for it. At least with something like a 4v5, you could argue it gives more space for gold and XP since it's spread between less players, but having someone lose because of a technical issue like that seems incredibly unbalanced. Radically unfair, even, because now it's not a matter of whether or not a player has a good technical skill and knowledge of the game, it's now based on whether someone ends up only being able to see 2 seconds behind them and getting gibbed instantly because they had literally zero reaction time.

So what do you think should be _a _ possible solution? I'm not asking for the go-to answer-all end-all thing, because I'm not Lyte. I'm just listening to suggestions, because I'm pretty sure a lot of other people would agree it's kind of a big deal, even if you're not personally the one lagging.

EDIT: I'm asking sincerely why this is being downvoted; I legitimately don't know, so can someone kindly explain to me what exactly I'm doing wrong asking this?
